What a parody, stinking dog? Curiosity, the desire to see all the available adaptations of Arthur Conan-Doyle's works, and sympathy for the genre of parody, made me get acquainted with this "ribbon", and to watch it to the end made the habit of watching all the films to the credits (if the film is so disgusting as this, then it is worth watching at least for the sake of writing a devastating review), and, as they say about hope, they waited for something worthwhile at least to show closer to the end, but hope died in the dialogue, although the authors did not take everything in a positive way in this work. Of all the serious versions, I consider the most unfortunate German film of 1937, which showed something incomprehensible and visually poor, but the “comedy version” showed that the bottom is even lower. My friend at Cinema Search, whose sense of humor, as well as the taste in cinema in general, is very different from mine, in this case I am completely in solidarity, and her arguments against these two films are even more justified than mine, because she read Conan-Doyle, and every film adaptation is judged strictly but fairly. In the first place among the film adaptations of “dog” she, like me, puts the English film 1983, in which I equally agree. But let's get on with the parody. In 1978, no one has ever dreamed of “A Very Scary Movie”, and even before the release of the first “Hologo Gun” there were two years left, but successful parodies such as the Italian “Signora Robinson” were already created, this film was filmed by amateurs with a perverted sense of humor , and everyone who acts according to the same scheme, comrades Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer act in our time – the right scheme: take a masterpiece, which has a certain army of haters, and is not surprisingly looking for the sake of this patricianism, is not so available on the website, and who does not sees these mers only those who are not looking for the sakes.
The film begins in the same way as the serious adaptations of this novel: Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson learn from a gentleman about murders, the traces of which point to a huge dog, which is absolutely incredible. Only all this is accompanied by the bizarre behavior of the characters, and towards the end of the first episode there is even a joke about the genitals - funny, by the way. Chapters 2 and 3 are completely unfunny, and in Chapter 4 there could be a funny scene in which Holmes comes to the spa and sees old women instead of girls, but the continuation of this scene in Chapter 5 was squalid, and could hardly bring a little smile. Chapter 6 is pathetic at all, except, perhaps, scenes with a parody of a spiritualistic séance. Even a "toilet" scene in the literal sense is not able to laugh, although you could come up with at least one joke. And Chapter 7 can be called a stable expression “titty fart”, but this is not frank humor, because this is “banal idiocy with flat jokes”. Well, the scene with prolonged dog urination is just “incredibly funny,” or at least that’s what the authors think. Although the beginning of this scene, where the puppy began to shit in Watson’s pocket, was amusing, the authors decided to exaggerate this episode as much as possible. Well, the scene with the mad old woman who attacked Watson is the height of morony. And that’s not all: next you will find a scene with a puking and at the same time rotating head, spraying everyone around – it does not need comment. All that's good about this movie miscarriage, aside from the two funny moments at the beginning of the movie, is five seconds with pyrospetseffects at the end. The dialogues are disgusting, they have no essence, as well as the plot. I don’t know what the story is about.
Previously, I considered the perfect bottom of the genre of parody all the “ribbons” Friedberg and Zellzer, then found a new bottom in the face of the most disgusting parody of Craig Moss, and, having become acquainted with such slops as “Trivial Fiction”, “Frankenschluh”, “Durmatrix”. Full loading and this film, I realized that there is nowhere to fall below. Well, we must absolutely not respect neither the world masterpiece, nor the viewer, nor ourselves. There is no more nonsense than in these “pictures” anywhere else. Watch only if there is a beach package.
