Mowgli. Episode 5. They say that in any work the most important thing is a good start and a successful ending. In the Soviet series about Mowgli quite a good start, but the last series turned out not so good. As the series draws to a close, what remains is the ultimate danger and final battle between protagonist and antagonist.
The problem is that after the epic fourth “Battle” there was nothing to impress the audience, so there remains a disaster. In the original, Kipling, too, had a drought that made readers think about natural equilibrium. But everything in the series is unpleasant. The piercing music hurts the ears, the image is too contrasting, and you feel that the characters have nerves on the limit. Moreover, even if the plot is not related to drought, something is wrong with the visual. For example, when a buffalo digs the ground with a hoof, the image begins to blur.
Especially upsetting is the music in this series, which has become a solid avant-garde. Whatever happens, music conveys madness to us. The exception is only the last minutes with a sad, too sad goodbye, although in fact the characters are not so sad, even happy for each other. Mowgli’s mental torment is accompanied by visual and auditory images that cut the eyes and ears of the viewer. In general, with emotions, the director this time very much overdid, and Some scenes to watch simply do not want to
.
But what's even more frustrating is, where's Raksha? In the first series, she was ready to give her life for Mowgli, and here there is no wolf at all. The series also forgets about Tobacco at some point and the character disappears right inside the same scene. Finally, Kaa. He's here, but not at his best. To further emphasize his great age, the artists painted his eyebrows. Why didn't you go ahead and add a mustache with a beard? The only one who really enjoys it is Baloo. A kind and wise mentor who is always ready to listen and embrace Mowgli.
Sadly, the fifth episode was a bit confusing. The final was supposed to be more pathetic, more pleasant and at least a little more joyful.
