Too repulsive Measure must be observed everywhere. This rule is relevant in any field, including animation. “Health Begins at Home” is a typical Soviet cartoon about the promotion of healthy lifestyle, but there is one drawback that greatly spoils the impression – very primitive animation. In the 1960s, there was a simplification of it, and if you compare it with the cartoons of the 1950s, the difference is noticeable. Objects and characters no longer look voluminous, eye detail is limited only by contours, and the physique of the characters resembles puppets rather than living people.
Another downside is that it is too unpleasant a villain. In part reminiscent of Corvax from the still uncreated training series "Mazzy", our evolved microbe is engaged in what spreads the infection. It is presented in such a way that the creature does not think himself without such mischief. Involuntarily recall the medieval representations of the Plague Virgin, who flew through the streets and looked into the houses of some careless people. The same unpleasant sensations are caused by music, which – let’s face it – will not please anyone at the holiday. Such compositions I want to quickly forget . Like the villain himself and the excessive abundance of rusty shades in the frame.
With morality, in general, everything is clear: it is necessary to abandon bad habits and generally monitor cleanliness. Claims are for the script. Before us is a rare case when in a Soviet cartoon very "incorrectly" shows the behavior of the father. In a situation where the cause of the broken vase is obvious, he blames everything on the other. What provokes a tense conflict, leading to unreliable destruction of the house. This is a technical blunder, unless the cartoon involves comparing doctors and builders. This is what happens when the director’s attention does not cover all aspects.
Not the most successful of the Soviet cartoons.
