Watch out, pest. Sometimes the sequels are better than the first part. A gift for an elephant is a good example. This cartoon continues the events of “On the Road with the Clouds”, but, released in the same 1984, it places more emphasis on the plot, rather than songs, which are less and they are not so boring.
In the first couple of minutes, viewers learn that, it turns out, events are taking place on the island, and in the world there is a very harmful animal with a strange name Duduka, who likes to do dirty things. Who is she, a hyena, a lemur? The color and stiffness of the coat resembles the South American jaguarundi, but the cartoon avoids obvious parallels with real animals. And rightly so, because stereotypes about “evil” crocodiles, snakes and other predators in Soviet cartoons are very quickly eaten up. So, our harmful animal is trying to poison the tiger baby and the monkey, and at the same time spoil the elephant's birthday. Time after time, Duduca saws something, shoots shells from his umbrella, but her plans do not just collapse, but turn against her. Because that's the law of boomerang.
The cartoon plays the well-known Russian-language phrase that a bird flies out of the apparatus during photography. Have you ever wondered how and why this phrase came about? Without the owner of the beak, a friendly company gets parody shots, and then there is one obvious way out. Among friendly animals, by the way, there is a crocodile, and this can not but please. But the finale still raises the question, because the universal joy and song do not reflect the essence of what is happening. Everyone talks about friendship and mutual assistance, but in fact the main characters are helped by simple luck, and this can be considered the main puncture of the cartoon, which is otherwise very good.
The first part just cheered up, and the second also makes me laugh.
