A housewarming party with Brother Trollik. I really like Soviet cartoons and puppets. Some of them I like completely and unconditionally, some - in a certain part and, with rare exceptions, do not like at all. “Brother Rabbit’s Newcomer” is in the middle, and now I’ll try to explain why.
I believe that this cartoon is not for a children's audience, because he can not teach anything good, but bad - for health! The main characters here are Brother Rabbit - who is supposedly positive and Brother Fox - respectively negative. Based on the plot presented to us, Brother Fox, quite friendly, blames Brother Rabbit for the fact that he moved into a new house, and does not call for a housewarming. Brother Rabbit, in response to this gesture of Brother Fox, responds with chronic hostility and rudeness, for which he receives, at least personally from me, the nickname “Brother Trollik”. The most interesting thing is that throughout the cartoon, this Trollik fully corresponds to the nickname chosen for him in relation to almost all the characters involved. As a result, I had an impression diametrically opposite from the one described above: Brother Rabbit is a negative character, Brother Fox is a positive one. And the negative character gets the upper hand, which for me is the apogee of injustice. I really didn’t like this “Brother Rabbit” thing. After all, any adult can draw a line between the good and the bad, how to act, how not, and children – can not, they themselves will be quite difficult to draw positive conclusions.
But, if this short film is regarded as an animated film for adults, then he “goes in” – hurrah! It has excellent musical accompaniment, animation, dolls, voice acting. What dialogue, what humor! Everything is remembered. However, for the provocative and boorish nature of the “positive” brother Rabbit, I cannot put a high rating.
