Funny, instructive and a little bloody cartoon Something has been going on for a long time...

The further, the more the Soviet animation tried to diversify its style. Already in the 1960s, cartoons in the style of lubricated pictures appeared, for example. But sometimes the simplicity of animation was due to a lack of budget. “Growth Vitamin” was released in 1988, and accidentally or deliberately, but it looks like it is based on drawings of ordinary schoolchildren. Everything is drawn with pencils and painted accordingly. Next to any "Well, wait!" and, moreover, Disney's works, "Growth Vitamin" is perceived almost as an amateur project, but if you forget about everything else for a while, then ... there is something in this.
Apparently, Soviet directors really wanted to shoot thrillers, and when Perestroika came, they decided to do it at least in cartoons. Where else would you see a person bit off a finger that sometimes regenerates? Do they cut off their leg? Admittedly, watching this cartoon as a child on TV, I did not even notice such bloody moments, but they are here. Apparently, the expectation was made that inattentive viewers will not see anything cruel. They don’t seem to see it yet.
The school in which Smirnov studies is almost as interesting and dangerous as the magical Hogwarts, only here the threat comes from animals, whether it is a spiny newt or an ordinary python, which is forgotten to close on a bolt. Sometimes. But I must say that this threat is mutual, because during experiments in biology lessons, the animals under consideration sometimes have a very hard time: they do not give carrots to rats! Very skillful and unexpected is the reference to "The Adventures of the cat Leopold", where, as we remember, the cat suffers from mice - close relatives of rats.
I like the voice of this cartoon. Especially successful year suits the teacher, who is all active, confident, with a sense of humor, but at the same time not cruel and not alien to pity, like a good student Smirnov. What of the “Growth Vitamin” can the viewer enter for themselves? First, educational content (vitamin A is really helpful). Second, rats are a global threat and must be tackled. But third, although rats and pests, they are also worthy of humanity and should not be treated too cruelly. Especially in school. Noting that in some frames there is a technical blunder (one finger is bitten off, but the other is bandaged), I put “Vitamin”:
