In a bright future... gardens. The cartoon “Sweet Turnip” came out thirty years ago and was remembered mainly by the phrase “Don’t go to our turnips”. Another of his slogans, if then cartoons had slogans, could be the proverb: “A fool with a mind gets richer.” In fact, the main character Fadei is just busy thinking about how he will now heal in the conditions of the market (more precisely – fairs), only he will make himself the original capital, privatizing turnips from someone else’s garden. This plot, about a complete immersion in virtual reality, has been repeatedly played out in our animation. You can recall one of the false novels in the cult “Last year’s snow fell” by A. Tatarsky (“there are fools, pod – a lot, and hares, pod – a little). And perhaps not so famous, but no less brilliantly executed "Kykos" from Robert Sahakyanz.
But these were all isolated cases. If anyone, sometimes we have somewhere! And then, Fadeika hit the stream. The whole country only thought how she would dispose of the very “sweet rap” that was waving in front of our stunned frostbite Timurych and his team.
For an incomplete 10 minutes of the nativity cartoon before the eyes of the viewer will fly all the signs of then life. Kabaks, security forces, grilled chickens at cooperative prices, video salons and of course she... America, a bright image that, as much as possible, you need to build at home, instead of running fields with turnips, on which someone’s kitten with Golden Stars hang as a scarecrow.
Although visually the cartoon repeats “The investigation lead Kolobki” in 1987, the same fancied with countless sticks of teeth mouth, the same “colabic” proportions and twitching movements, its authors (director Anatoly Solin and artist Mikhail Starchenko) to the future studio “Pilot” seems to have no relation, which is rather strange. The credits mention even the paints of the company "Talens", used in the production, however, I think, not for the sake of complying with "copyright", which then no one seriously bothered, but for the sake of some hidden pont - so, they say, while you with your rap can not understand, we are here already Dutch paint in full use.
In general, having revised this cartoon, I can say that it can really claim the title of a document of the era. That’s just the era that many do not want to remember. Very quickly ran then the watchman, and for dreams of sweet turnips, many, like the main character, had to give the last pants.
