Charming anime. Anyone who is well acquainted with the mores of Japanese society will understand this anime, its ideas and their depth.
"Ijime." The other side of parenting in Japan.
In the world of Japanese schools, there is a fairly well-known concept of “jime”, which literally translates as “bullying” – a situation when suddenly all classmates turn against one in order to “help” him, “make him the same as everyone else.” However, this “help” from those with whom you only yesterday were friends and communicated well turns into a serious tragedy.
Very often children do not withstand pressure from peers, refuse to attend school at all or commit suicide. The statistics are very deplorable. In 1993, in Japan, there were 4 cases when students of junior high school decided to commit suicide because of ijime. In 1994, the number of suicides rose to 9. And already in 1995, 11 schoolchildren decided to die in order to no longer tolerate bullying from their classmates.
Tachibana Mei, the main character of this anime, becomes a victim of someone’s cruelty. She stops trusting people. . .
One day, Mei meets Yamato Kurasawa, a handsome man and... a good man. Kurosawa is a good friend and companion, but he can be frivolous in relationships with girls.
Their meeting is more of a case, May turned out to be a stunning xD, and... Kurosawa fell in love, a young man who never fell in love with anyone, fell in love with a girl who no one noticed.
The drawing is great, it is a very tender story, trembling. This is a story about the fact that all of us, people, are inherently very lonely and experiencing their losses and gains.
It's a story of love and friendship, May realized through Kurosawa how she lacked friends. This is a story about the happiness of finding love (a close person in a lover). Have you ever wondered what it means to be a friend? It means you can be told anything, and you can. Have you ever wondered why people break up? We love each other, but we break up! We have no understanding. We love each other, but we don't understand. Even strange and scary, loving each other, we do not understand each other!
May and Kurosawa understood each other and became close, they will not part, and they will not separate.
It’s a great anime, it’s a pity it’s only 13 episodes, although there’s manga and OVA. I also want to mention the beautiful OST Nomi Yuji and such themes as "Kiss wo Shita", "Kare no Risou", "Jibun no Okareteiru Joukyou", "Chanto shinakereba Ikenai Kadai".
