Good always wins. Nowadays, everyone is somehow used to the fact that films with fairy tales are shot exclusively in the West, and often forget how many beautiful creations Soviet cinema gave us. One of such wonderful works of Uzbekfilm studio is “Adventures of Arslan”.
The fact that the film was shot in Central Asia makes it special, atypical, unlike most fairy tales. Amazing costumes, original characters, unusual landscapes, the very entourage of the film. Oriental color is simply fascinating!
For many, the plot may seem extremely banal: a brave hero enters into a fight with a powerful villain and defeats him. But this is far from the case.
First of all, the image of the sorcerer Karashah himself deserves attention. This is not just an anti-hero who has magical abilities and turns opponents into any creatures and objects. In his spells he uses the dark sides of people (which are in every person): laziness, cunning, cruelty, selfishness, lying, greed. Everyone has a black gift. And he who finds the strength to overcome, to conquer himself, can get rid of the spell.
The main character is interesting - an ordinary boy - mischievous, brave, kind, he does not have any superpowers, he does not have magical things or powerful patrons, no one inspires him that he is the chosen one and must save the world. He simply believes in justice, in the triumph of goodness and in the bright side of man and is ready to fight for this to the end.
Other characters of the fairy tale deserve attention, attracting (as I said) with their unusualness.
I can’t help but mention the wonderful music and songs for the film. Of course, the creative union of Zatsepin and Entina enriched the film.
I can disappoint fans of special effects, we will not see them in this film fairy tale, but, in my opinion, it did not become worse from this.
