Why "The Last Call"? When this film came out, I even added it to the “bookmarks” to watch sometime at leisure, the plot penetrated, I thought that something in the spirit of “American Pie” (hello, youth!), and when I looked... immediately rushed to the section “reviews”, and here – empty. I thought there would be no positive feedback, and there are no reviews at all! Is there really nothing to say about the movie? There is nothing wrong with that.
From "American Pie" echoes in the form of an aging Tara Reed, which with each project looks worse and worse, her career was saved only by a meeting of graduates with "Pie", and then, literally, this film ... well, the conversation about "The Last Call", and then looking at her, you do not look at the acting work of Tara, but only at how terrible she became this black eyeliner under her eyes.
Christopher Lloyd, deeply respected by me, was like a breath of air around all the idiocy, although the motives of his hero are also not completely clear to me: first he demands that his own son (who is more suitable for him as grandchildren) save his bar while he languishes for a month in the clinic, and then tries to burn his own drinking establishment, it seems that it was all about insurance. .
When Clint Howard appeared on the screen, I generally thought that this film was a meeting place for those who already have no luck in the movies. For me, his last memorable role was in the TV series My Name is Earl 15 years ago.
Actually, I’m all about the actors, you need to talk about the plot is a very primitive story: two brothers are trying to save their father’s bar from bankruptcy, while he is sitting either in prison or in the clinic – to choose from, but there are no ideas normal for the promotion of the bar, except to drink to minors and invite strippers, so they are not at all lucky in this “business”, even had to lay a car for this case (what became of their cars in the end is also a mystery, although this moment was given a lot of conversations in the frame). And it was all over... probably it will be a spoiler, although hardly anyone will watch this movie, but it ended very predictably... after the death of one of the regulars. I was sure these two assholes would do something.
In general, there is nothing to add.. I still do not understand what the last call rang in the film, or this is the “last bell” for all aging actors?.. and, Travis Van Winkle is the main character, before that starred in “Transformers”, and Ryan Hansen – his film brother – in the series “Gossip Girl” – do you remember them there?
