Nice, funny, in places spectacular, and therefore necessary to watch. To familiarize myself with this animated film, I was pushed by an acute shortage of paintings for viewing on one of the free evenings. I had no confidence in a Japanese cartoon from a company unknown to me, with a dubious sign, extremely dry description and apparently very childish content. Nevertheless, I decided to do this brave act and now, after watching, I call on people of all ages who are not yet alien to vulgar humor, pleasant characters and touching moments not to neglect watching this wonderful creation.
I immediately warn you that the beginning may confuse or even push you away, but I ask you to bear a little and like a delicacy dish with a charm in the aftertaste or noble red wine, this cartoon will play with bright colors, will not leave indifferent and will leave a pleasant residue in memory for a long time. I won’t tell you the story or describe the characters, because I hope you get to know them yourself. It is you who will get acquainted, because although there are many of them for a half-hour animated film, they are carefully and trepidated by the authors - each of them has its own unique character, habits, inclinations and attachments. Each of them has its own important role in albeit a bit banal, but not without a twist.
I often read reviews on this site and see almost always constructive criticism, but then I think about some points and realize that sometimes the picture has such indisputable advantages that you simply do not notice the rest. I think this is the case. You can watch the film and look for flaws in it, meticulously dissecting all the shortcomings that only come across. But why do you need to watch movies just to criticize them? Let’s take a closer look at Monsters on the Island. Perhaps someone will say that the plot, events, and many characters are secondary (which is a sin to hide, from one corporation of monsters taken very, very much). Someone will pay attention to the quality of animation, which is lower than the same DreamWorks. Someone will say that all this is just another tearful-sugar hastily riveted story for a low-aged audience - passable material. But why don't all these people stop throwing rocks and see the obvious? Yes, you can find a lot of similarities with other paintings, but these similarities are not a stupid parody and not an unsuccessful licking, this is a very successful selection, I am not afraid to say, the best moments with the introduction of a share of Japanese cultural color and stylistic amendments (many of the already familiar you will again pop up in your memory, you will look at something in a new way, but all this will cause only positive emotions). And even if the graphics are not at the level of world market leaders, but after all, their budget is not such, and their track record is smaller, and at the same time you feel warmth and love for their creation, attention to important details, the ability to beautifully present, a considerable work done by artists, and not only 3D animators. If we talk about the plot, then it is not without interesting moments and with the right portion of everything necessary for a pleasant viewing, including sparkling humor, dynamic scenes, a lot of touching moments, a very popular nowadays (and thank God) theme of the eternal issues of friendship, hostility, love and loyalty.

And while I can see the flaws, the unity of the positives I've seen is more than just the sum of the elements.
