Honor your Lord and serve him faithfully. David Hogan's film "Soldier of God."
I may not have noticed it, but in light of recent events in Crimea. .
But I will not talk about politics, only impressions and some thoughts about it.
Knight of the Order of the Templars René, (apparently meant René of Chatillon) in an unequal battle, is captured. At the first opportunity, he escapes from captivity and meets a Muslim wanderer in the desert. Repeatedly saving each other's lives, they try to reach Jerusalem. This path will not be easy, Rene will be destined to lose her beloved woman, faith, and the meaning of life.
Despite the fact that the film is far from the historical truth, but something close to our time in it is indisputable.
It is often said that the earth is hell. It's hard to argue with, but where to get another. It is not up to us whether it is heaven or hell. And if we are not in this hell, then the earth is just the land on which we happened to be born at this time. Just our land.
I don't know why God needs soldiers, except to do justice as you see fit, and there the war will write it off. The war will write off everything, and God will write down your exploits as an asset. A good position, and most importantly convenient, do not think, only washed his hands of blood and again like everyone else.
Or perhaps you are not so much a soldier as a creature of God and your enemy, not a soldier either, but a creature of God just like you.
If you can put up with it.
If I walk in the valley of the shadow of death, let me fear no evil, for you are with me. Your staff and your staff are my comfort.
