Tolkien, a little different. Christopher Tolkien surprised. In our world of Tolkinists, he is treated like Sophia Andreevna Tolstoy - they say, went to fame, thanks to the Batenkin creativity. The filmmakers are just fine!
This movie changed the way we think about Christopher. He is an outstanding biographer of his father. Perhaps he can systematize what the great J.R.R. himself could never have.
The great Tolkien modestly gave out his works, not particularly perplexing readers with moralizing. He invented a special form of preaching: fantasy. The world of eternal truth, primordial wisdom and unshakable Tradition envelops the one who touches it. And then there is the subconscious mind that sleeps the archetypes. However, it is difficult to assess today's transformation of fantasy into a subcultural drug, dopey covers the System and does not change attitude to it.
Christopher Tolkien showed his father a little differently - as an integral social philosopher - traditionalist, antimodernist, Catholic, moralist, family man.
Christopher’s comments are an excellent help for the mental systematization of everything subconsciously pumped up for reusable reading of the greatest English-speaking writer of the twentieth century.
But, again, subculturers cannot watch. Too close to the reality from which they hide, rattling with mail and carrying a mouse around the table.
