Unfortunately, I was only able to watch the TV version by satellite, it was less than 2 hours.
The film is biographical and interesting primarily for those who are familiar with the work of Francois Rabelais. The movie is spectacular. Costumes, decorations immerse in the atmosphere of the 16th century. The brilliant work of composer Pierre Basle. The music is organically inscribed in the canvas of the film, a song from the film I want to listen to the player.
Looking at Michel Omon, you forget that you have an actor in front of you. In my opinion, this is one of his best works.
I really didn't like Eric Elmosnino's performance. In France, I could find a better actor. Feels like he's out of the question. Reads the memorized text, trying to make the right face. I wanted to turn off the TV from time to time.
Still, the overall impression is good. I don't recommend anyone to watch. If Rabelais is not interested, don’t waste your time.
