I'm calling a lot and there's no use. To be honest, the need to create such a short film seems to me zero. The Throne doesn’t have a universe that’s wide enough to be supplemented by such small works that don’t reveal anything new. In 1982, the director was looking for the necessary funds to create the first Throne for a very long time, while The Next Day was created for pennies and looks appropriate: the camera jumps back and forth, the actions are chaotic, but most importantly, there is no sense that events take place in the nineties and, especially, in the eighties, since cameras with such high resolution images did not yet exist.
Flynn, who, as we remember, regained legal rights to a bunch of software, is on the wanted list, and The Next Day gives us too vague arguments that the world cares about the fate of this man. The fact that everything is shown too quickly makes everything seem pointless and even dangerous fanaticism. And as for the main feature of the first and second film (which this tape complements), the virtual world is shown here only casually, at the very beginning, as a reference to the original. Do you remember how the film’s title appeared? What happens inside a computer system, we won’t see it anymore. Involuntarily recalls the second short film from the franchise "Fast and Furious", where there was no such important detail as fast driving cars. Even more meaningless can only be a short film for Jurassic Parks, where there is not a single prehistoric animal.
Is it worth the creation of your attention? Most likely not.
