Return “Modern high schools are like endless wastelands. Bullying, absenteeism, depression. Everything is run by monsters of the school caste system. No matter what your role is, you get tired of it. There are too few rays of hope left. Can a 35-year-old schoolgirl find anything in this endless darkness?
The answer to this question is obvious!
The main character of Baba Ayako is an incredibly strong personality. She decides to return to the school she attended after 17 years. She has personal motives related to tragic events in the past. Each episode reveals the secrets of her past and shows her interactions with her classmates. The school itself, by the way, is also quite problematic for both students and teachers.
In fact, bullying in schools in Japan is quite a serious problem, and it is very good that more films and TV series have been created that address this topic.
At first, no one accepts the new girl, but Grandma (as her classmates call her) proves time and time again that she can become part of the class and be a friend to every student. She becomes a headman, helps to establish a good classroom environment, supports children and girls who suffer the most from bullying, participates in the sports and creative life of the school. She's very cool! And in general, she is the breath of fresh air that was so necessary for this place and people. At the same time, it is not easy for her, she is constantly tormented by memories, she doubts the correctness of her decisions. But there is someone who supports her. Over time, she makes friends, and the support grows even more. There’s a lot of emphasis on the importance of friendship and that’s great!
As a result, a wonderful series, kind, bright, soulful, with a lot of both funny and sad moments. It looks the same! I highly recommend it.
