Ugh! There is something new in this series: faceless. That is, completely, as in Japanese folklore nopperapon. In fact, it has nothing to do with mysticism and you will not notice if you do not look at the frame. But if you take the trouble, you will see how the faces of some minor characters are stretched stockings so that extra faces do not distract from the main characters. Before that, I had only heard about breast and genital attachments in American films of the sixties, so that by chance when shooting scenes with nudity in the frame did not get something forbidden by censorship. Maybe this faceless manner of turning extras into undrawn manga characters is found somewhere else, but, I won’t lie, for me in this regard, the series was a revelation.
To say something about South Korean humour, you need to watch more of the country’s comedy series, or at least know how it resonated there. I thought the humor was strained. Constantly overplaying actors, a lot of toilet stuff. Well, the joke is, when a man slaps a woman on the shoulder so much that she flies to the other wall, I don't like it. Well, on the theme of "Who ruined the air" - too, but it can not inspire me in cheap American comedies.
Now for the story. To the credit of the creators, you can not look at the screen. That is, if you want, no one will interfere, but all the information is repeated several times to understand even the inattentive viewer. Each character is well enough highlighted and not like the others, so you can distinguish them at first sight. The very stories of who killed whom, let’s say, are not realistic. And the actions of the main character, who then forgives the murderers who have expired the statute of limitations, then rushes to catch the criminal who has the last day before the expiration of the statute of limitations of the crime - well, little logical, but not annoying. About who the killer is, you guess pretty quickly in each series, but the creators of the series are able to bring enough absurdity to it that it is very boring to the viewer was not.
Otherwise, with a discount on local specifics, this is a typical cheap series, which we had a lot in the beginning of the zero. The fantasy of inventing various eccentrics is off the scale. It’s a bit infuriating that anime replays in characters always. That is, all these, familiar to the “salormoons” and “doraemons” – “aaaaaaaa!” (with the ascent of the tone at the end), make up not half, but almost the entire film. But if the whole range of South Korean sneezing, sneezing is interesting, then it is fully represented here. Although, if in the anime moments of such madness were interspersed with dramatic inserts, in the series the non-stop cartoon screams are very tiresome.
In general, the film is interesting to watch in order to understand the culture that creeps in there unnoticed by the locals. Society is shown, albeit modern, but at the same time imperceptible to themselves - patriarchal. However, for example, in the series do not be afraid to use the theme of homosexuality. The film introduces a lot of its own absurd pseudoculture, like the sayings: “Only Englishmen wear glasses on weekends” and “Sausages should only be eaten on an overcast day.” Of course, this is just an element of comedy, but, it should be admitted, although not particularly funny, but original.
The series is good only as a background, since neither the plot, nor the play of actors, nor the atmosphere it does not attract the viewer. Something so simple, constantly screaming in the background. After the first season, the series did not continue, leaving it without a logical outcome for end-to-end characters. On the other hand, maybe it's for the best.
