This film was released in 2009 and almost immediately drowned in the abyss of other films about teenagers. But The Book of Scouts for Boys is worth a look, if only to reflect on many things, such as how a great and bright feeling of love could so quickly turn into cruelty and inexplicable acts.
It is difficult to define the theme of this film, there are quite a lot of things here, from teenage cruelty to early pregnancy. Perhaps that is why it is so difficult to understand how and why a loving and kind guy in just a few days turned into a real scumbag, committing cruel acts that are difficult to explain and justify. It is also difficult to determine the character of the main character, because by doing these very acts, he repents, but the real realization of the depth of what he has done comes too late. The main character is quite a good girl, but due to her young age, she sometimes makes sharp and selfish actions, does not even try to solve the problems that have come up, and after running away from them, begins to get confused in herself. Confusion, mixed with impulsive actions, gradually translates friendship and love into cruelty.
The film is worth spending your time on.
