The Duffy Race, or Chuck Jones, rolls over in his grave. “Looney Tunes” – a series of classic animated films Warner Bros., among which there were many masterpieces (" One Frog Evening, “What is the Opera, Doc?”, “Such a Familiar Smell”, etc.) became famous thanks to its “Gags” – anvil, banana peel, cake in the face, and other mockery of the characters. But that's not what's important about Looney Tunes. The main thing is that all these gags were mixed with a rather subtle humor.
Duffy Duck is one of the main characters of “Loonie Tunes”, a black spleen with a yellow beak, which has a very harmful character and the most “nasty” of the characters in the series. But sometimes it brought considerable pleasure to both small and large spectators. The company Warner Bros. either out of a desire to earn money and unwillingness to invent new characters, or stupidly rattle the people for nostalgia, decided to revive short films with the participation of a pest-slug. And, since 2D animation is not in fashion now, and Pixar’s 3D short films are very popular with viewers, the studio decided to take this serious step.
So, in the early-classic screensaver "Looney Tunes" (cry, parents, remember a golden childhood), after which we see a little Elmer, decided to change the hunt for the theater. Therefore, wearing a cylinder, a black suit and grabbing binoculars, Elmer sits in the stalls and begins the performance. And then he-Duffy Duck appears, voiced by the late Mel Blanc, or rather, archival records of his voice from some record. Unfortunately, his voice is the only plus of the short film, since the further plot is a blunt chase, with completely tasteless (unlike the same “Tom and Jerry”) bullying Elmer.
The big question is why in 3D? Showing Duffy in 3D is like turning Cheburashka from a doll to a drawing, that is not at all the same. And the charisma has disappeared somewhere, and the incendiary laugh is somehow out of the question.
In general, bad
