Before the release of “Riddick” decided to review all related to the franchise materials.

I didn’t find a translation* of the tape, so it left a certain imprint.
Let there be a lot of talk, but even intuitively you understand that all this is pathetic boltology that nobody needs. This several times reduces the value of the already empty picture, which is a small tasty for fans, who usually place on collectible dvd in the form of bonuses or additional materials.

In our case, this is an animated comic, which is a promotional material for the release of a new film from the Riddick saga.

There is almost no point in it.

The comic tells about a special case in the life of the “newly made Lord Marshal”, when an attempt is made on him, after successfully preventing which (Vinrar Diesel, well), he is betrayed by a whore, which he will also safely drink.
I'm a little curious about the final conversation between Diesel and Waako, and it's nothing special.

It is impossible to evaluate this, since it makes no sense and this material was not created for this purpose. You just need to put "viewed."

In this review, I will not separate the components of this trailer and evaluate each item, as I usually do. I just want to recommend this video to those who want to see the movie “Riddick” and watched the previous parts of the franchise.

Actually, in this video everything is shown exactly as I expected, but now it is clear exactly what happened to the main character after the film “The Riddick Chronicles”. By the way, the drawings here are not alive and perform only the visual component of the explanation and link between the parts of the film. Of course, it is normal, but many details are missing.

In the Riddick films, I often stumble upon the thoughts and ideas I encountered when I read George Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire. But it probably just happened. I watch Riddick movies and read Martin's books. And there is nothing new in these thoughts, in fact. It's as old as the universe.

The main idea of this short animated film is that power changes a person. It doesn't matter who he was. He has only one way - into the abyss. A black hole, if you will.

This is especially true for people who have not been burdened by civilization. If you don't want to, you have to make concessions. Unless I remember Conan doing that. But the “becoming king” was his plan. So he remained a barbarian and on the throne.
After watching the cartoon, I wanted to watch Riddick even more. When the civilization inside the hero will be completely removed (along with betrayal and dirt), the unfortunate assholes will face a terrible fate.
The creators continue to delight. Carl Urban came back to say a few important words.
"Excellence."

Sometimes it is necessary to return to the roots.

Like the 2004 animated film Dark Fury, the graphic novel Blindsided is both a direct sequel to one part and an official backstory to the next. It seems to connect them, taking care that the viewer does not have any questions about the plot.
Visually it turned out weak, but due to the gloomy atmosphere and voice Vin Diesel, the impression did not deteriorate. The dialogues are excellent and have a clear reference to the Chronicles. I also liked the plot, he explains why in the new film Riddick will immediately be on the planet from Pitch Black, from which it all began.
In general, it is a pity that not all series care so much about their fans and it is for such attention to films that a lot can be forgiven. Of course, now I’m waiting for a new part of one of my favorite universes even more, and this video is recommended for everyone to watch before going to the movies.

P.S. I recommend watching with Russian subtitles from Tydysh, their translation quality is excellent, and there is nothing better yet.
