Colorful history I went to the Amazon today. First of all, I probably want to mention the snobbery of some of my friends about this film, in the spirit of “this is a children’s kinzo.” Well, yes, I am well aware that the movie is 0+. It was interesting to see what level this picture is for the children’s audience. The question is actually serious, since many films shown in theaters, positioned as 0+ (especially Russian pseudo-fairy tales) I would not recommend watching preschool children. There's a lot of things that kindergarteners don't understand. So here are pictures for children aged 3-6 years is produced very little. And in general, “Amazon” can be attributed to such films that would be good for the youngest. The plot is surprisingly simple and transparent that even retelling it, you will not become a spoiler. In principle, all the drama is laid in the trailer: the plane with the circus monkey Tim crashes in the Amazon jungle and our hero begins to master his natural at first alien habitat, along the way inventing the rules of life in the wild. There are no deaths, no bloodthirsty scenes of predators eating their prey, although it is not presented in vanilla majeure with vegetarian jaguars and good harpy. But hunting, the search for food, conflicts in the monkey pack are served without embellishment by admiring the “cruelty of nature”. Surprisingly, in the film with a large anthropomorphism of the main character, there is absolutely no anthropomorphic approach to nature. The director's work is done very competently, so that the narrative does not overload the viewer with the duration of one episode, but also does not turn into flashing bright pictures, also quickly tiring children's attention.
The soundtrack and the work of the sound engineer are also great, without exalted pathos in the spirit of the next Marvel comic book adaptation, but not a low-quality mix of major sounds (why do many believe that if you write a song stupid and in major – it’s sure to please young children?!). No songs - great, it's still not Disney. The musical background sometimes creates even a somewhat disturbing atmosphere (when the main character is in danger), but again, everything in moderation so that the impressionable people do not get scared. At some points, the sound of rain and the singing of cicadas so calmed me that I began to sweetly yawn, in which case I will watch or listen to the Amazon for a dream if I can not fall asleep for a long time.
And separately it is worth talking about the operator's work. I would recommend watching Amazon for viewers of all ages, since the incredibly picturesque landscapes of living virgin nature are not always found in ordinary documentaries. A brilliant selection of angles makes this film very colorful.
In addition, in addition to the main plot, designed to entertain the young viewer, the film also tells about different inhabitants of the rainforest, again, without overloading with information. All in moderation, in order to interest, but at the same time not to make you bored.
The only thing I didn’t like was 3D. It's totally inappropriate here. There’s not a single place in the movie where I really felt the effect of a stereo picture (and I was expecting something like the bees from The Hobbit and the Wasteland of Smaug, but alas and ah). Again, this is more of a marketing move. A considerable category of young audience is not considered a movie if there is no notorious 3D. But, in my opinion, it would be better not to focus on them. Or take stereometry seriously. Here, on the part of 3D, you see a clear hack.
Yes, by the way, Timur Rodriguez was pleased. Very well and fervently voiced, without any hint of obsceneness and parochialism, which can be expected from immigrants from the TNT channel. Immediately, on the contrary, there were rather associations with the classical voiceover of Soviet cartoons. In the work of Russian dubbing, there is at least respect for the young viewer, which is commendable. Well done, Timur!
The film is good, I would highly recommend you to watch it with your children, preferably not in 3D. This is a very high-quality, cute and fascinating tape. After spending an hour and a half on a trip to the vibrant world of the Amazon, I guess you won’t regret it.
