«Stalin_adrenalin.ru» "The war is not over until the last dead soldier is buried." A. V. Suvorov. I singled out this statement of the famous Russian commander because it best describes the tape of Yevgeny Barkhanov. Being inherently tragicomedy, "RePePe" carries an emotional depth comparable to a bottomless pool. And the abyss that is any war. And Evgeny Barkhanov knows about it firsthand.
He performs in the film not only as a director and screenwriter, but also as an actor, playing the most difficult to understand hero nicknamed “The Beard”, concussed during the Afghan war. Barkhanov himself from 1986 to 1987 was a student of the Ryazan Airborne Command School. In 1987-1988 he served in the 56th Air Assault Brigade in the Republic of Afghanistan. For the fulfillment of international duty and the courage shown at the same time, he was awarded government awards, the Diploma of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR. As well as his character, he is an invalid of the Afghan war.
The war does not end with the last shot. She lives in the soul of those who are lucky to return. Returned in different ways: someone unharmed, and someone without an arm or leg. But very many carried in their souls this burdensome, un etched imprint. They say war doesn't have a woman's face. That's not exactly true. By definition, war cannot have a face. Only the rock is ugly and stinky...
"RePePe" demonstrates a modern attitude to the war of various social, age and ethnic groups. Therefore, the film is so different characters: the trinity of modern “business people” - Jora, Valera and Isolde; a group of foreigners - "submersibles"; and the most colorful village trinity - "Beard", Ventelikha and Petrovich. For Raisa Konyukhova, who played the former prisoner of the concentration camp Ventelikhu, "RePePe" became the 44th in her creative biography and, unfortunately, the last - six months after the premiere she died.
The film was funny, lyrical and heavy at the same time. There are many songs that seem to push the boundaries of the screen, completely immersing the viewer in a kind of atmosphere created by the perception of such different externally, but infinitely close internally people. The finale demonstrates this fully, once again emphasizing the originality of Yevgeny Barkhanov both as a director and as an actor.
Psychological and physical trauma at one time pushed Evgeny to the decision to enter the theological seminary, but a conversation with Bishop Nicholas (Nizhny Novgorod and Arzama diocese) changed his whole life - he entered the VGIK department of film drama, and in 2005 graduated from the script faculty of VGIK (the workshop of N. Figurovskiy). Evgeny Barkhanov is now actively working in the film industry.
According to his script, the films “Sandunov Spring” (2010), “Zhivalo-Occasion” (2013) were shot, and several more scripts are being prepared for film adaptation. Eugene is a man who feels subtly and is deeply concerned for his land. Therefore, he treats it with warmth and humor: On the Rzhev land came Livonians, and crusaders, and Tatars, and Greeks, and Vikings. Whose legs did not trample her, and she - nothing, takes everyone into herself. We have a good land!
