Race against death Schematic action movie from Christian Sesma with Luke Goss in the title role, which once again confirms that he is one of the main action stars of our time. Let the star, whose work, increasingly belong to category B, bypassing rentals in theaters.
This film was no exception either. It seems to be filmed in the era of cameras with the highest resolution, capable of giving a decent look to everything that the operator would like to shoot it, like there is no script, and such famous names as RZA and Bukem Woodbine adorn in the credits, along with Goss. But somehow, it turned out that the only reminder that this tape comes from somewhere not from the 80s, just falls on the share, a clear manner of shooting. This is the one that best describes the date of its release. In the rest, it is not at all old-fashioned, as in Old School straight-line action, combining a specific goal pursued by the hero and accompanying this muzzle, shootouts, and chases. Yes, this movie is still made and besides, it is in some demand.
If you are waiting for something else, then it is better to temper your ardour, because nothing else, this fighter can not give you, simply by definition. He is stingy on intimate conversations, and in general just on conversations, unless we are talking about the fateful flash drive owned by the hero. And that everyone else is chasing. He does not give good to any dramatic aspects, thereby depriving himself of emotionality. To hunger for the film and logic, stubbornly replaced here by the strict mood of the narrative.
Every time clumsy dialogue about the importance of the information contained in the flash drive comes to the fore, Cesma gives the film such a tone of importance that one might think that the fate of all mankind depends on it. But who is he trying to fool? Unless only himself, cherishing the hope that his work may still cross the thrashing line. You and I, it is clear in what steppes, leads this ordinary, typically cinema, stuffed with far-fetchedness and understatement.
And it leads, by no means to the Halls of Fame. With such indicators, at best to average sales on video, and rare broadcasts on cable channels. At worst, it will be remembered only when it comes to the stars directly involved here. However, such fame, not the worst achievement, because the main thing is that as long as the names of these people have weight, the film does not threaten complete oblivion. And somewhere, maybe even at all, he will find his viewer.
For me, this is primarily an ordinary action movie, the whole plot of which is built on one note. And who, more or less, secured his existence at the expense of the charismatic Luke Goss, who played here, is far from his best role. It’s unlikely that this movie will be for you. But to be sure, you will have to watch it from start to finish, at least once. And as a parting note to everyone who will ever decide on this brave act, I will say that you can watch it once. But as for the second session, think for yourself.
