Brazilian passions Brazilians have always been ahead of the planet in terms of the passions on screen, so Stolen Love is no exception.
And even though before watching, I was skeptical, after I was ready to admit that Brazilians can still surprise.
The series includes 10 episodes, 4 of which I watched.
According to the established tradition, from Latin American series you expect some “snotty soap masterpieces” that do not differ in the novelty of the plot. Since the days of “Clone”, I have not been able to see any of them to the end.
Modern films and TV series are less catchy and almost not remembered. Most of them have no soul, you just look at a beautiful picture that has nothing to do with reality. Sometimes it’s good, sometimes it gets boring. Sometimes you want to see something catchy, sensual, real, you want to abstract from the world around you and disconnect. For me, this picture was a breath of fresh air, the more likely that we will not see a happy and worn by the directors of the happy end.
While watching it, I thought I was watching Mexican movies. The parallel with Mexico is not accidental, the manner of filming, music and landscapes are not quite Brazilian, but certain moments and close-ups, the series reminded me of Alejandro Gonzalez Iñárrita’s “Bitch-Love”. There is no staged scenery, everything is shown as vitally as possible and this definitely has its own thing.
Indeed, in “Stolen Love” collected many different characters and with each series they are revealed in a new way. The main story revolves around the young and attractive sommelier Leandro (Caua Raymond), as well as a wealthy Brazilian family who owns a winemaking enterprise, where he gets a job.
Almost immediately, Leandro begins to pay attention to married women. The plot is divided into three completely different love stories. But they all have one thing in common – it’s obsession. Someone's obsession manifests itself in the form of jealousy, someone in the form of dreams and dreams, and someone it lives in the heart. The hero of Kaua Raymond as a snake tempter, gives women exactly what they want, but he himself does not fully understand why all this is done. But in fact, he is not Don Juan, he is just, once abandoned by his mother, a boy who was never loved and who did not love anyone.
We witness how the usual life of the heroes collapses overnight, how difficult it is for each of them to make their choice and how a mistake can be paid dearly.
Infidelity, jealousy, passion, deception, love, betrayal - all mixed in the best traditions of the genre.
The cast is perfectly selected, Murilo Benicio can not immediately be recognized with a beard, and his role is specific, completely moved away from the role of “worry-lover”.
Why do I love Brazilian TV shows? You don’t believe them, you worry about them.
I hope the series doesn’t disappoint me.
If you want to brighten up a spring evening while watching something real, then watch and evaluate yourself.
