The series is built on a good idea of geek programmers. It is interesting to watch the development of the plot, although it is built on the classics of sitcoms: 1-2 secondary plots per series, and another central plot for the season.
But sometimes it is disgusting to look at the main character. He learned nothing in 3 seasons. He destroys his own idea every time, and then he gets out of luck. Even drug addict Erlich Bachman is developing. He's not as spoiled as he was in Season 3. But Richard the authors made him an idiot.
For example, for 2.5 seasons, nothing was said about his gap problem. Then, in order to show his inferiority, add a scene with a call, a girl for 2 minutes and that's all. Or Donald does the fraud first, goes for it. And the next episode already dissuades Richard from the same action. And that's all in season 3. At first, Richard admits to problems with regular users before the investor. And then that investor doesn't really care how they're going to fix it. It's like it's not her money at stake.
The complete feeling that after the first season, the writers hated Richard, made him a flawed, stupid, short-sighted man with a delusion of grandeur, but a manic truth-lover.
On the other hand, in the beginning, there were brilliant programmers who in a couple of months made revolutionary code. They understood the idea, then they combined the two ideas into an even cooler algorithm. And then, when they had to win the competition with their abilities and knowledge, they became stupefied at once.
So it turns out that the writers hate the main character, the logic of the world changes every series, there is no understanding of what they want to show at all - the series becomes semi-terrible. It's like a roller coaster - when you show secondary characters, it gets interesting. And as soon as they lead the main branch with the main character - I just want to squander. I can advise the series with caution.
I heard a lot of praise for this series, high ratings, HBO product, everything spoke in his favor. But to be honest, I put off watching it for many years, the trailer was more repulsive than inviting to see.
But finally, all the great TV shows have been watched, and the new content is not particularly pleasing. And then there's Silicon Valley.
After watching the first season until the end, I could not stop, I literally went into a binge until I finished watching it. Bottom line - I put this series on the same line as Breaking Bad - it is so good.
An important part of Silicon Valley is its content, namely the idea of sewing up business advice about a successful startup and its path from a to me to a visual comedy story. Here will talk about a large number of pitfalls and difficulties on the way to success.
Of course, this is a fantastic story about a startup, despite a lot of failures, the Dudochnik team has many luckiest coincidences. But here is the main point - perseverance and incessant struggle, the search for options and approaches despite a lot of problems, and this is a huge guarantee of success in business. These guys have a lot to learn.
But even without the business component - this is a cool story with a twisted plot, twists, black humor, wonderful characters.
You will experience a lot of experiences and emotions growing together with Pegim Pidochnik from season to season.
Separately, I want to mention the characters, yes, they are all a little crazy and exaggerated, but they are perfectly spelled out and still human. In these types, it is easy to recognize your surroundings: friends, colleagues, bosses and relatives.
Perhaps the series and its themes will not go to everyone, but I recommend everyone to give him a chance, this series is worth it.
I'll start with the main thing, I did not have the series.
The opinion is purely personal and, accordingly, completely subjective.
I got a high rating, and the topic is interesting, but... alas. I lost the first season, and on the second I could not stand it, broke.
My feeling is that if you’ve started watching Silicon Valley & #39, and somewhere in the third episode of the first season you’ll have doubts about whether to continue watching, I think in this case it’s better to stop and stop. The series on the amateur (of course, like everything in this life) and a high rating to watch until the end does not help. No explosion in the dynamics of the plot will not happen. Watched until the third episode of the second season, the rest is rewinded, nothing changes.
Heroes are complexed eccentrics, with a decent such conceit and inflated self-esteem in some areas of their life, and a lot of doubts about their viability and complexes of incompleteness in others. Apparently, according to the creators of this contradiction is a sign of genius.
In general, strikingly, the main characters do not cause empathy. They will win or lose, they will get what they want or they will be a bummer almost regardless. And not only the heroes, but all the characters: either infuriate or do not care. It doesn’t matter if they have a positive or negative role. The villains do not cause the desire not only to kill them, but even to elementary wish them a loss, the heroes - to help and save; I say, it was necessary to try so hard.
The intrigue develops in a leisurely rhythm and questions: what will happen next, then everything will end; as I watched the series, I was usually left indifferent. Plus, constantly, but especially in the most critical and decisive moments of the plot, the main character behaves like a complete idiot who cannot connect two words and begins to stutter, and his team is no better (well, the genius that you wanted). So I want them to either just send their opponents, or they were sent, pre-wrapped to the thread.
The comedy application, for me, is also quite dubious. I laughed for the first time only in the fifth episode, before that, even watching a smile did not cause much. As for me, mostly humor revolves around the themes of political correctness, but somehow strained, as if not to overdo it, as if to say: “You see, we can joke about it.”' Plus not a lot of comedy positions and jokes below the belt. Not particularly funny, but rather annoying.
In general, I had the feeling that the creators decided to cross American Pie' with Social Network' and it turned out that it turned out.
Separately, I want to talk about voiceover. I can’t say anything about translation, because I don’t speak English, but the selection of artists for voice acting is something. No artistry comes from the word at all. The impression that just read from the sheet for the first time, not really and caring about the intonation, more or less got into the opening of the mouth on the screen and fine. I'm sorry, but they used to read better in literature classes. The selection of voice timbres for some characters also raises questions: why were adult male characters sometimes voiced squeaky voices of fifteen-year-old boys I absolutely do not understand. In my opinion, this only interferes with perception, causing dissonance between the visible and the audible and can cause nothing but irritation.
To sum up: the idea is good, but the embodiment. . .
Although, judging by the rating, many like it, and somehow it lasted six seasons ... but, alas, not mine.
Silicon Valley, great time after working in code. (for coders)
But there are a few facts. The first season flies with a hurrah, just class, aerobatics, but the rest of the seasons since the second, you will watch so that ' You need to watch'.
The first season began cool, some group, lives and works with a weirdo who rents rooms to his ' friends' He's a Jew. But this company has the most boring nerd who works for the company, but at the same time writes his own code, which is able to read data and compress it. A kind of compression algorithm. And this code falls into the eyes of billionaires who have lived in hostility all their lives, and trying to prove who is cooler, they try to buy his code from this nerd. So begins the first season. But let’s not describe the whole picture verbally, the story begins at this stage, this nerd becomes a startuper of his idea, and opens an IT company.
The essence of the series lies in the fact that the nerd and his team are trying to introduce their technology into the world around them, and make the world a better place. But with each season, there are some failures, failures, and by some miracle they get second chances.
And the meaning of this plot is that this is a comedy series, and the entire period of the series, they in pursuit of happiness stumble upon the same rake, the entrance of all events paints this whole series of humor that made the voiceover from ' Cubikov' if not for them, the series would not be as interesting as it is. Hardly so many viewers would gather from the usual 'censorship' translation.
Briefly, I can only say a few words about the series, the series is excellent, interesting, but interest is lost already somewhere on season 3, jokes are less and less, and the turn of events seems to be repeated over and over again. And the ending without ' happy ending' as I would like, the whole series paints humor from two competitors, one backender, and the other frontender, in life so it happens, the war of two opposites are always arguing with each other, and always mocking each other. And of course, the owner of the house where everything was created, he also painted the whole series, but it disappears for two seasons, and for unknown reasons, the series never gave an explanation where he disappeared.
In the end, I add, watch the series better in the original, if you are good friends with English, if not then ' Cube in Cube'. . .
Let me start with the main topic. I've been working in IT since 1990. I mean, it's been a while. He worked in several companies: small, large, open-mined megacorporations. Russian and international. In independent companies, in stratup projects, in companies grown in business incubators. He was engaged in changing the architecture of large projects, debugging and optimizing innovative algorithms, and compression and encryption programs. I mean, everything that's shown in this series is known to me very, very well and firsthand. Even the topics and methods of development directly raised here are definitely my topic.
And what can I say after all this? Everything in this series is complete nonsense. It has nothing to do with the real situation. The series now and then feeds the viewer small real facts from the IT world, so that it seems that it actually happens. And the authors have heard about David Huffman's adaptive compression algorithm based on building nodes from right to left. And the SCRUM framework. And a lot of other things. And from here in the series a lot of references to real things. And then they show the backlog board, and stand-up rallies, and even the name of the algorithm ' from the inside out' it is clear where it came from. But. None of this will work. And all the algorithms that are told are just not working. And organizing development teams doesn't work that way. And as many programmers as I've seen, I've never met a single type of programmer in the series. And startups, and incubators, and the teams themselves – all very much screwed up. And if there was a group of developers who would deal with the problems that the characters of this series are engaged in, then at the first deadline they would have nothing working. And the first meeting after the first sprint would scare everyone and customers and investors. It's just the instant collapse of the whole project.
But if you put all these controversial moments aside, then the series will have nothing left. There is a group of people who do nothing specific. They eat, sleep, go to parties, attend exhibitions and other things that are not particularly interesting. Nothing unique, unexpected or funny happens to them. So personally, I was very, very bored. And I barely watched the first season until the end and then did not master. If all the technical nonsense is omitted and not taken to heart, then only boring routine remains. But in IT so much interesting is happening, such interesting and funny personalities meet.
In general, it not only did not impress me, but even surprised me with its protractedness, monotony and lack of interesting events. Very, very boring.
It's an awesome TV show. I looked in one breath. Immersion in the world of startups and big business. The absolute absence of a love line is only good for such a series. Yes, the plot goes in circles: everything is good - the heroes make a problem for themselves - complete collapse - miraculously saved - everything is good again and so on. But for 6 seasons, the series did not get tired, although at one point it was close to this. The reason was that it was an interesting project, an idea that I would cheer for in the real world. And, perhaps, it is worth watching only geeks, to which, perhaps, I will take myself too.
Again, viewers in the subject, it will be especially interesting to watch this series. It is made with humor, so you will not be bored. I like it, I highly recommend it to all IT professionals!
I'll tell you from the beginning. I'm an IT guy. I'm a programmer. I have been working in my profession for 30 years. I'll tell you right away. 30 years ago, everybody, everybody called this Silicon Valley. There was no such thing as Silicon Valley. And you can think as much as you like about the fact that silicon in the name is used more correctly and appropriately, but 30 years ago everyone said silicone, and only recently suddenly it turned out that this is unacceptable. When this valley came into being, and when it was called Silicon Valley, most of you didn't know it existed. Therefore, it is not necessary to change the established world.
But it's all lyrics. I was very interested when I met a series with that name. Given the fact that I have seen some very interesting movies on the theme of Silicon Valley, I decided to watch this series. To be honest, I only watched the first season. But honestly watched to the last episode of the first season, harassed, forced himself, but watched. So my opinion is based only on the first season.
I've been in IT for 30 years. You could say old-timer. He was engaged in the deployment of servers, cloud services, and system programming. As a young man, he developed compression algorithms. The theme of this series is very familiar to me. Trust me. What do I see? Total technical heresy. The authors are clearly not in the topic and do not understand almost anything about programming and algorithmization. A progressive compression algorithm that can compress absolutely everything at times? Compressed data search? Hacking the program code of the algorithm on the site that this algorithm provides as a service? Are you? Do you have any idea what you're talking about? SCRUM is not just a board with sheets, it is a method of managing self-organized teams in complex projects, and this method has almost nothing to do with motivation, so since it is shown – it does not work.
The problems the heroes face are not really problems. If there were a team that spent most of the time designing and discussing the company name, the company logo, etc., they would definitely collapse. They haven’t even heard of the version control system. Backups? We don't know either!
And against the background of all this near-technical heresy, we are thrown with a lot of terms that in fact apply little to what is happening. And if we close our eyes to this illiterate lawlessness, what do we have left? I didn't find anything myself. Five young guys who live in the same house and work there. What do they do? Eating, sleeping, drinking, stuffing code. Yes, scenes are especially savored, where against the background of a panic attack, the main character has that diarrhea, rampant vomiting. I don’t care if I look at it.
You know what really puzzled me? The genre of this series. I still don't know how he can entertain me. In the Kinopoisk it is stated that it is a comedy, but, sorry, I am tired of waiting for the jokes to begin.
Over. If you are far from IT, algorithms, mathematics, etc., then you may be interested in it, just keep in mind that everything that is being shown here is actually complete nonsense. But I would not advise IT-showers to watch this, because I can not think of what here might interest the latter.
Excitingly interesting. The highest degree of certainty. Sparkling humor. Moving for the brain and soul effect: more than 20 hours spent at the computer watching a movie, simultaneously and without harm to the psyche, printing text for the magazine, reading reference books on computer terminology.
Behind the comedy plot 'Silicon Valley' (Silicon Valley) hides all the same serious problems of startups when developing their own company: unethical seizure of investor management, theft of intellectual property, technological difficulties in the rapid scaling of projects and so on. Undoubtedly, the series gives a good mood and smile, but also teaches how to survive in the world of business sharks who want to eat him and his business.
The series is very good! But there are spots in the sun. There are plenty of spots here.
But let's be clear.
For some reasons, including workaholism and fascination with the “Big Bang Theory”, I watched the series only in 2020, which, however, made it possible not to strain it a drop, but to drink in a swoop.
This is a great story about a group of IT geeks who came to Silicon Valley to try their luck. It is full of stalking references to most famous personalities from the world of technology, full of stamps, and the main character is like Zuckerberg. Plus, the daily life of the developers is very well shown - all this scrum and ajail, sprints and focus of the group, disagreements between eggheads with management and customers on the subject of "the product is perfect, and if you do not understand this, then the problem is you." I’ve heard this before and more than once.
The first two or three seasons are perfect from every perspective. It can be said "Wild West" about the world of IT.
Whether there are drawbacks in the series - definitely there. I didn’t say that the series is cool until the third season. Then he is also cool and quite watchable. But, he stepped on the same rake as dozens of other series - self-repeats, lack of character development, "unexpected" twists ala "that's the turn" and grand piano in the bushes.
As for the lack of character development, this is particularly noticeable. No character, ONE, evolved during the series. Not emotionally or intellectually. The evil Satanist remained a harmful Satanist, the greedy Arab remained a greedy Arab. Freak and bad ass Glavger - and remained a freak and ass.
Take, for example, the “Big Bang Theory”—anybody—evolved. Leonard, Sheldon, Raj, etc., all got married, someone changed jobs, someone got an award, someone went into space. Screenwriters were able to find a balance between Geek scientific and technical topics and household, which perfectly diluted the main topic.
There is nothing like that in Silicon Valley. All six seasons, we’ll see the same throwing of a group of developers and their friends. They will be on the same rake dozens of times. The topic of everyday life is very weakly touched, the topic of relationships, personal life, sex in the end is almost absent. And that makes the series a bit rusty.
Does this make Silicon Valley a bad series? No, no, and no, it's a great show. It's just a ton of jokes, they're not afraid to go through racism and feminism and jokes below the belt. By the way, the TOP is the translation of cubes. Yes, mat is enough, but very authentic - it's not advertising, just really liked. And in general - it is necessary to revise in the original voiceover with sabs.
I would recommend seeing it if you haven’t seen it yet. Definitely. If you like good comedy shows, it’s worth watching. Great show. And the downsides - I listed them.
Ah, another Searilian of my favorites is over. I've written about him before. So a little bit about the last season and so to speak RIP. Let’s say the last season was not that disappointing, but the bar definitely fell. Not much. I watched with interest anyway. But the 7 episodes were not enough. It was too hasty. That's the final. Logical, but kind of sad. All seasons have been such a crazy drive life-affirming. Thorns to the stars. And this time, life was quiet and everything was covered with mold. A precipitation of helplessness and a slight emptiness in the heart. That's not what I expected. It is a pity that Ehrlich never returned. It definitely created a special atmosphere. Well, I hope that sooner or later there will be something similarly fun about IT geeks. The field is not plowing. )
The Valley series is another of my university friends.
He supported me during the session and helped me to have a good laugh in between preparations.
The series follows three programmers who attempt to bring the idea of one of their fellow programmers, Richard Hendrix, to life. They will have to go the hard way from the birth of an idea, an incubator, a startup, to a large company. On the way, they will always encounter difficulties, and not just difficulties, but those that at first glance are simply impossible to solve.
Despite the specific themes, humor is more than understandable, almost on an intuitive level. For this it is worth saying a special thank you to the translators and voice actors of the studio 'Cube in Cuba'. Without their work, this series would not be so interesting. Some jokes are even funnier than the original.
This saga, according to many, perfectly reflects the trends and specifics of the work of people in Silicon Valley. People who get fabulous money for writing lines and keyboarding often simply do not know how to amuse their vanity and what to spend their millions on. But this behavior, in fact, is not much different from Millennial millionaires from Russia.
Separately, it is worth noting the characters of the series, everyone, literally everyone. None of them are empty. Each one is unique and I will miss them all.
The series was not squeezed to the full, as it was with 'Game of Thrones'. We stopped in time. Still, making a funny comedy all the time is an incredible task, and the series coped with it at:
10 out of 10
I’m going to try not to say that this is the best series in the world, because I’m still impressed, but it absolutely, forever and irrevocably enters my personal top. Let me finish with this, because it is clear that this is an unconditional masterpiece. And I will not even disassemble the series, because everything is so woven there, so juicy that I am afraid of inadvertently giving something away, and here it is much more important than in any 'Star Wars'.
I can say one thing:
'Silicon Valley' has nothing to do with 'The Big Bang Theory'.
I mean, as much as it's possible. These are two so structurally different series that I honestly have no idea what is going on in the minds of those who somehow find themselves at a distance closer than Earth to the Alpha Centauri. Obviously, this logical chain can only be described by some primitive associative series. But what can be so primitive?
' Silicon Valley' belongs to an extremely poor line of production series. So poor that I did not strain my head, I remembered only four of her representatives:
- Chic 'Bakuman'
— Excellent ' Ballers' (' Footballers' with Dwayne Johnson)
Geniuses 'Breaking Bad' ('Breaking Bad') and 'Prison Break' ('Prison Break')
And in my list 'Silicon Valley' somehow miraculously climbed above the unattainable 'In all serious'.
The series is very original and original, leaving a double impression. It does not have "snot" - romance, love intrigues. Perhaps that is why even my husband, who is very disapproving of the series ("... the same, the same...!) got into this series. As a person far from the world of programmers and IT technologies, the constant rotation of the plot around these topics was a little stressful. And the plot with great dynamics and changes of scenery does not shine. But! The humor here is so subtle, so accurate and high-quality that I was ready to applaud the screenwriters standing up, and some jokes can easily become catchphrases.
Heroes and cast members... I want to say that this is the first series in which I did not feel sympathy for any character. Usually, after the series ends, I am sad - I miss the heroes I love. I will not miss the heroes of this series. They are not all charming and everyone has their own cockroaches in their head. Some of the characters are even annoying. But, to be honest, in real life I don’t like programmers. So maybe this is a great work of the creators of Silicon Valley - they were well-chosen actors for these roles?
To summarize, the series is definitely recommended for viewing, even for those who are far from the world of IT technology. A large amount of quality humor, strange behavior of the characters and funny situations in which they often get stuck, enough to entertain any viewer. More than other translation and voiceover options, I liked the work of Amedia.

Everything you wanted to know about programmers, but were embarrassed to ask.
Silicon Valley is a real guide to the bizarre brains of programmers with their genius, jumps, desires and dreams.
We will be shown from the inside how this Silicon Valley lives, where Windows, Apple and Google were created. All this is on the example of one intellectual programmer incubator, where programmers live and work eccentrics.
This group has its own genius Richard, his womanizer Ehrlich, his sarcastic pofigista Gilfoyle, his Asian Dinesh and a real super nerd Jared, he is also the biggest joke on the part of all.
The company is crazy, all weirdos are specific, in some ways very different, they unite on one progressive project and how they can promote it and support each other.
Kompachka constantly put sticks in the wheels, only the lazy did not throw them, but they always find courage and original solutions to defeat all enemies. And luck is on their side, but not always.
Victories alternate with stupid, absurd defeats, but step by step our frostbitten programmers are moving forward to victory, to the fact that the program “Pegy Piper” stood in every computer, compressed data, and they became millionaires.
The humor in the series is good, sometimes on the verge of a foul, but together with a juicy voiceover gives the right pepper to fold from laughter under the table.
An additional plus of the series, I consider the consecration of the lives of billionaire programmers who are under 50 and who are even more eccentrics and scumbags than our five characters. The images are probably collective, but you quite believe their collorith.
I’m watching the third season now and I will say that it is not inferior in intensity to the first two.
About the actors - they are all great guys, each managed to give his character charisma and in the end, all very loved by the audience.
I highly recommend the series.
I put eight just because computers and programera theme are not very close to me, and so everything is at its best!

Young programmers, inspired by the success of Apple, Microsoft, and Facebook, travel to California in droves to change the world with their innovative ideas. The main characters meet in one of the IT incubators, which belongs to the epic Ehrlich Buckman.
Excitement
Just recently, season 4 ended and the series was officially renewed. Given its wild relevance, a certain ' botanical' (young scientists - in ' Big Bang Theory' here IT specialists), this is a great trend humor. It’s interesting if you’re keeping up with the times and your Digital (I hope everyone knows what I’m talking about) ranges a little beyond Windows and Yandex searches. 'Silicon Valley' is about a new generation facing age-old challenges. Greed, racism, sexism, ambition are topics that will be relevant in any era. How does an unrecognized genius from the bottom get to the top? How can Prometheus give people fire, but also make money from it? How do you have everything but do nothing? I’m writing about an epic drama. It's easier. It's a little dirty humor about technology. No one discusses metaphysical issues or goes into programming details. Dynamic and light for perception.
Quality
It's an HBO series. Here you can put a link to the review of the series ' Vice President', which you can find below. In short, it is clearly and juicy. The atmosphere of Google offices, California sunshine. Positive.
Actors
Actors are known for all sorts of stupid comedies. And in principle, it is 'Silicon Valley' brought them success. Interestingly, most of them are comedians and stand-up actors. And this concentration of wonderful images per square meter makes the series as harmonious as possible.
On a cold and rainy weekend, stick to such a series. Have a good time.
Husband: Do you realize that Silicon Valley will last us until the end of the week?
I said, "Don't say it out loud." I refuse to think about it!!
Yes, comrades, this is the best thing that my husband and I have seen since the clinic! And the clinic was seven years ago.
When I talked him into watching The Clinic, I said it was the best show since Friends. Friends is not just our favorite show. And not just a series that got into the list of the hundred best series in the history of television according to the Hollywood Reporter. He tops the list!
However, the same people who put “Friends” in the first place awarded “Clinic” only 87th. I’m not an expert, I’m just a spectator. And in my opinion, Silicon Valley is not inferior to Friends. My husband claims to be superior. But he got a little hot. You have to take into account the difference in time when all this was filmed. It's not much, it's 20 years old.
I’m not comparing “Friends” and “Valley,” they’re completely different. And they have only one thing in common: the level of quality and the power of involvement in what is happening on the screen.
Many people compare Silicon Valley to the Big Bang Theory. But these series are similar only at first glance. "Valley" is tougher, more dramatic and more realistic. It also seems more relevant to me today. We really like Theory, but Silicon Valley likes it better.
You know what it's all about: you look at the Big Bang Theory to relax. I laughed and forgot until the next time. The heroes of the Valley are with me all the time. I keep coming back to them during the day, remembering certain situations and suddenly I start laughing. I think it looks really stupid.
I worry about them as if they are not fictional characters, but at least my close friends. This is exactly what happened to Friends 20 years ago. I believed in these heroes, they came to life for me, they became a part of my life.
My husband and I got so excited that we are constantly discussing the series. But that’s not all, he started to dream!
And this despite the fact that there is almost completely missing what makes most modern TV series popular. No murder, no violence at all. Everything is built on dialogues that revolve around IT development and related business. Do you understand? No blood, no bare boobs! There is not even a single love line here! And the passions, meanwhile, are not jocular. It's impossible to break away! All you do all day long is wait for the evening to see what's next. Just see them all again! I don’t know about you guys, but we missed you!
And only an incredible effort of will, and even out of fear that otherwise the series will end too quickly, you turn off the TV and go to bed.
“Silicon Valley” is a well-written and equally well-played character. Anyone who appears on the screen for a few minutes is a person. These are unexpected turns, unconventional situations. Plus the specific humor that made me hysterical and wiped away the tears rolling down my cheeks. I want to applaud everyone who has had a hand in this!
And since I started with comparisons to other TV shows, I'll end with them. I don’t know why, don’t ask, but “Valley” reminds me of the early seasons of “Californication.” And also, one great cognitive entertainment show, the one with host Adam. Yes, the same Adam who ruins everything.

HBO is a unique TV channel, consistently shoot wildly popular series on completely different topics, constantly hitting ' in the bull's eye' - an indisputable sign of the highest skill of producers and all involved. And not to say that the themes of the series are truly unique. Actually, 'Silicon Valley' is ' correct' ' The Big Bang Theory' that is, a series about 'smartnikov' which did not fall into the gum about relationships ' how difficult ' freaks' in this world' and develops the plot purely around the main innovative idea and the formation of the main character, strung on it all the rest.
The latter appeals to me most of all - as far as I have enough knowledge in IT, the development of Hendrix's ideas is extremely relevant, but the presentation of technology development is such that, in my opinion, it looks interesting for ' not dedicated' (unlike TBB, where Cooper's prodigy is driven to the notoriously unrealistic level ' the intensity of botany' became only a weak secondary storyline).
Moreover, 'Silicon Valley' is a full-fledged work of fiction, with a clear development of characters and well-marked motivation, in this regard, the main character Richard Hendrix is brilliantly spelled out - from a shy autistic boy to the end of the series, he seems to become a tough head of a super-successful company with an iron character and an unbending will. In general 'life' 'inhabitants' Silicon Valley (and IT people in general) is described both realistically and demonstratively - many nuances are naked (read - squirted), in this regard, one cannot but mention other actors - the images are simply magnificent! In addition, traditionally for HBO, perturbation GG and antagonists are extremely entertaining - the series does not let you get bored.
And, of course, humor - someone will seem flat, someone - vulgar, but ' hardcore ' coders - they are just very similar to the heroes of the Sabjah, including the manner of communication and worldview. By the way, the trailer quite well reveals this very worldview: ' Jobs is a clown, he did not write a line of code. . . '
And how not to write about 'characters_from_cameo'? The doctor and the lawyer(s) are super funny images, brilliantly played.
So, what is it 'Silicon Valley'? A great thematic series with a serious and even dramatic basis, served in impeccable comedy sauce, magnificent characters and an entertaining plot.

PS. the name of the antagonist company hints at ' Russian trace' in the script.
Former nerds and beat boys are creating a new world.
When you stumble upon Silicon Valley, you begin to compare it with one of the pioneers in the field of scientific comedy series The Big Bang Theory. When viewing the first series, you draw parallels: they say it will be a local Sheldon, this is a local Raj and so on. And at least there are some general similarities in the appearance and behavior of the characters, but after a couple of episodes comes the realization of the fact - "Silicon Valley", trying to explain many abstruse things for ordinary viewers who are not related to the field of programming or business, came out on an order of magnitude better quality than "The Big Bang Theory", which, it seems, just smarts in order to show its intellectual superiority over others.
The plot about a startup in the field of technology could be suitable for a dramatic series, but the creators decided to formalize the idea in a comedic manner and did not lose. The seriousness of what is happening is diluted by first-class jokes of a different nature, because of which the series sometimes has to be paused, so that due to exuberant laughter, you do not miss subsequent information. Difficult relationships between different characters who do not like each other, but have one common goal, are one of the biggest advantages of the series.
Step forward, two steps back and so on all the time. The smallest successes of heroes can immediately be replaced by new major problems. And so it is throughout the season. Just a little distraction, and you missed the details of the deal. The series makes you run after him, move your brains, do not break away from the screen, be there, learning what exorbitant labor, cruel setups and a lot of circumstances are behind the creation of your applications for the phone.
It is such smart comedy series, all series of which have a common storyline, I would like to see more, because sitcoms with one problem per episode in their relevance remained somewhere in the 20th century.

The series is about a group of young people who are trying to build their careers in Silicon Valley. One of the main characters creates a unique project, which, with successful development, will not only revolutionize the IT sphere, but also make its creators rich. The script of “Valley” revolves around the development and promotion of “product”, and for three seasons he manages to remain wildly funny.
The main part of the comedy series is the characters. They're just something here. A bunch of talented developers/programmers who are always in funny situations, get out of them in an incredible way and continue to move their startup. This show is very close in spirit to the “Big Bang Theory”, with the only difference that instead of geek themes, the emphasis is on modern technology.
I also note that, despite its IT orientation, the series can be recommended to everyone without exception. Even if you periodically hear difficult terms for yourself, you do not need to climb into Wikipedia, because this will not prevent you from laughing at another annealing from local heroes.
As a result, we have an extremely interesting, insanely witty and at the same time relevant for our time show. Recommended for mandatory viewing.
After The Big Bang Theory began to slide into the abyss of self-repeat and "Santabarovism", I decided to look for something similar, and came across Silicon Valley, which is definitely worth watching.
The series tells about life in Silicon Valley, a place where the most high-tech companies in the world are concentrated. The central characters are four startups and the owner of a business incubator in which they try to give birth to their brilliant ideas. Mostly, the series ridicules startups and corporate culture in the field of IT, but do not worry if you are unfamiliar with all this “it-kitchen”, humor in most cases is based on funny situations in which the main characters fall. Unlike many other comedy series, where each episode is a separate story, Silicon Valley has a single plot, which is a definite plus. Another advantage is that the creators manage to make the viewer worry about the characters in almost every series, placing them in situations that do not always end in a happy ending.
So far there have been 3 seasons. All of them were on the same level, which can not but please. HBO (the channel that produces Silicon Valley) continues to hold the title of “Best TV channel” releasing, which year, such high-quality products.
- Fifteen-inch macbook pro with stupid stickers? — Everyone here has crumbling fifteen-inch macbooks! — Chip 1 and 3 and only 2 Gig RAM? She does not know java, I wrote it to her.
I had a chance to work in a large IT company, and here about the poppies noted exactly, indeed, it looks like an army with poppy armpits. An army of diverse guys in colorful trousers, scurrying flocks from one rally room to another and drawing elaborate schedules on rickety plastic boards. These are tropical fish-geniuses (most often even prodigies).
I can only say that the series is definitely worth watching. And not only to those who struggle in the IT sphere, but to everyone who understands the meaning of original sitcoms and undrawn elegant humor.
The history of the development of a successful start-up in Palo Alto is depicted here in extremely rosy colors, everything is easily, quickly and easily given to a group of talented geeks, even tragic moments (numerous layoffs, losses of multimillion capitals, etc.) do not look at all depressing. If you are looking for realism, you are not here. For example, in the TV series 'Stop and burn' (also very good) the kitchen of an ordinary developer - a coder, whether a technician - is shown more adequately. Of course, this is no longer a sitcom.
Comparison ' Silicon Valley' with ' The Big Bang Theory'. Yes, there are many common places and they are obvious, so I will tell you about the differences. If in ' TBV' the friendly factor is accentuated, then the creators of ' Pied Piper' in ' Silicon Valley' - first of all, colleagues. Each of them, although they have a certain sympathy for the rest of the team, is always ready to jump off the train & #39 at full speed. In addition, the local female characters are a complete failure, absolutely spinless and unnecessary in the plot (even the beautiful Monica).

Definitely one of the best series about geeks and IT in general.
A series where everyone can find themselves. Feel like a character on the screen. This is because each character is different. Everyone has their own zest, their own 'Y'
There is also ' the smartest' but insecure guy. There are two friends who are constantly attacking each other. Clever, but with leadership qualities lazy. And even a completely incomprehensible chela with his cockroaches in his head, who builds ' the smartest' into idols.
Also, the series is full of blacks. And it's a joy. For black humor (really black humor) has never spoiled anything.
The series should definitely be watched by everyone who is close to the IT field.

A comedy series about a young startup, and the plot is entirely about him. There are no love lines, like in TBV (which initially made a good show unbearably bad), and like in IT Crowd, the thought of the series does not jump around everything (although IT Crowd is very good). The script 'Silicon Valley' but revolves only around the development of their product and remains wildly funny.
One of the best things about the show is its characters.
There has been a lot said about the insecure founder of the startup, about Jared, whose balls all kick, beautiful Monica.
But for me, the main gun is other heroes.
Gilfoyle and Dinesh! All companies have 2 friends who are constantly arguing and bullying each other. So, they are the ones who make a lot of jokes for the series.
- Can I help you build a server?
- Nope. Let princesses work with their heads while servants work with their hands.
Ehrlich Bachman, on the one hand, is a cunning Jew who does nothing but has his 10% income. But on the other hand, he constantly moves the guys when they drop their arms:
- We screwed up, you can't fight against it.
- or shave! (flying into Ehrlich's room with his bong)
Somewhere online, I saw someone rooting for Pied Piper more than their dissertation. Exactly! You will be constantly mixed with grunting.
The title of the review and at the same time a quote from yesterday’s series 'Silicon Valley' fully reflect my key message. I really hope the show doesn’t screw up and stays as cool as it is now. By the way, just when I wanted to see what the series was like yesterday, I realized that this is the third season!!! I thought it was the second, because everything flew in one breath. The sparkling humor of nerds and programmers is like an improved version of the Big Bang Theory & #39. Naaam improved. It's like taking a great idea and pumping it concretely. . .
What can I say? Not everyone understands what it means to live in the high-tech downtown of San Francisco, in a real Silicon Valley and be one of the 5-6 geniuses in your industry on the planet. That is why the series is a priori worth watching for everyone! That is why he is already doomed to success. Comedy format ' on the verge' I personally like it. ' On the verge' - not in the sense of jokes, but in the sense of the plot: despite their genius, the characters in each series risk screwing up to the full program, failures and failures directly pursue their sophisticated minds. And when you realize that the flip side of genius is boundless stupidity, that's a real intellectual orgasm. Sometimes you start to worry about their hard work and a promising start-up, when suddenly a stoned Ehrlich Bachman finds a solution literally ' on the surface ' a deep reservoir of inconceivable complexity options. Speaking of Erlich. This character is still looking for! Sometimes he really pisses, but that’s his function, I think.
And in general, all the characters are some rough diamonds both in terms of their role and in terms of the cast. What Jared is worth is you can't look at him without a smile. Well, the main creator of Pied Piper Richard Hendrix is unique in every way. I won’t even begin to describe them all, since it is better to see this incubator at least once.
And, it would seem, the story develops in an hour by a teaspoon, and sometimes everyone tramples on the same place, but the plot with each series acquires more and more new heroes and turns, somehow magically pulling the viewer in. I just wrote this, and it dawned on me: but this is the secret of the writers of any series - one line, like a tree trunk, harmoniously overgrown with branches, flowers, fruits ... Network marketing in the flesh. Ha-ha - thrives in any field. And yet 'Silicon Valley' differs from all other series elusively, but significantly. Feeling involved in such a project, even as a spectator, is pride and joy. 'I can't make shit!' says Gilfoyle, perfecting his platform a hundred times over. .
Okay. Write for a long time is pointless, as it will be easier to watch the half-hour first episode of the first season to understand that you made the right choice.
Watched the 2nd season of the series Silicon Valley. I like it, I'm waiting for the 3rd (announced for spring 2016).
So, the story is about geeks who are trying to promote their startup, developed literally in the garage. Often, when reviewing this series, one remembers another, the Big Bang Theory. Despite the visual similarity of the set of characters and the general themes of geeks, comedies are quite different. TBV - sitcom, looks easy, jokes have no age qualification.
'Silicon Valley' although funny, but makes you worry and empathize. Heroes face more close to real life situations. Around them are sharks of rapidly changing IT-business, competitors, plagiarists and just rascals. In addition, we have to somehow organize ourselves, discipline the team, which from friends-neighbors became a working team. The path is thorny, full of adventures, problems. As for humor, it clearly has age restrictions. Especially if you look in translation, for example, 'Cube in Cube' (I looked in it). By the way, director 'Silicon Valley' previously participated in the creation of 'Beavis and Butthead'.
Going back to the TBV comparison, the jokes here are also quite understandable to viewers who are not involved in science or IT. Naturally, the series are designed for a wide audience, so at least understandable (if not funny) will be even older people.
Of course, the series could not really fall into the soul without the charismatic characters. Falling in love with Richard's cute shy little girl and admiring Monica's beauty? I also thought their lawyer looked like a slightly shaved Sergey Brin from Google.
Ever since the days of Hackers, I've been craving films about geeks, and programmers in particular. It is painfully attractive brains, which are accompanied by specific humor, and a scientific explanation of everyday phenomena, and the absence of platitudes.
From the author of “Office Space” Mike Judge – a film about modern wizards, “the rebellion of romance against the mediocrity of life.”
Much better than Mr. Robot. No pretentiousness and fashionable now Weltschmerz. Reminiscent of the first seasons of TBV and Pirates of Silicon Valley; better than the Social Network and other American template, which equates the mind with success, cheaply filmed boring IT crowd and some playful Scotts pilgrims.
I don’t want to take a joke meter, but the humor in the series is great. It is this conciseness, sarcasm, the theater of the absurd that sets the tone for the whole story and never gets bored. Social satire and self-irony - that's what good people with cultural firmware and Mike Judge himself, who again and as funny hates corporate culture as much as his character - colleges.
Editing, lighting, composition of the frame - everything is at the level, nothing cuts the eye. Dynamics is just right, from the screen can not come off. The actors fit perfectly into the roles. I'd like to cut some laundry jokes. And brunette mascots. Well, there's no such thing as perfection.
I look forward to the third season in April as much as Game of Thrones.
Silicon Valley is a modern comedy series, with humor on the verge of foul and jokes like the best examples of this genre. The series is built on topical and close to modern society topics.
It seems to me that the authors of Silicon Valley, inspired by many different series, as well as the success of the very popular Big Bang Theory, watching its triumphant step and inexorably approaching completion, borrowed some ideas and transformed them in such a way that a new high-end product was created.
Time does not stand still and to replace modest, cultural and sensitive nerds comes a new generation of four-eyed, namely cool professionals in the IT industry. Genius, stuffed with a variety of complexes craftsman, writes a compression algorithm, which in all respects exceeds the best existing samples at least twice. That’s where the series begins, and I hope that this simple idea can translate into something more than two or three seasons.
While the series looks very good and smooth, all series are strong and of equal quality. The authors manage to maintain an excellent pace, the quality of humor and jokes without lowering the degree. Events develop interestingly and rather unpredictable, in each series the viewer is waiting for new surprises and incidents, which reveals the images of the characters from different sides.
In turn, the images of the main characters are cute and somewhat canonical, the dashing five IT specialists are complemented by an attractive business lady with her beauty and femininity. I think this is just the starting line and in the future, the number of female characters will only grow.
In general, apparently, a big bet is made on the project, it has already shown itself quite well and in the future a great potential and prospects are visible. So, good viewing and welcome to Silicon Valley.
