And another return to the Soviet era, and another story about several generations. The series honestly tries to look like a family saga. It seems like a good thing at first.
I can’t call this series a bad one. Still, his production is very high-quality, the actors do not try to nervously “scream”, obvious blunders in the reproduction of that time are not noticed. And here's the directing... It is a gift that some will immediately understand who Krasnopolsky and Uskov are. And yes, these people worked not only on the "Eternal Call" - they have good modern projects behind them ("Two Destinies", "Wolf Messing").
The series seems to tell a simple story with interesting “spots”, but the overall impression remains somewhat blurred. It kind of floats. Here is a normal episode about growing up and upbringing... but the daughter, all this “I will leave the house!” And you traitors! Not the worst “soap”, of course, but this excessive pathos and drama spoil the impression.
An attempt is made to depict the change of epochs - from Soviet life to perestroika and beyond. There's even Gorby's famous performance and an episode from the "dashing nineties." And everything would be fine - but in places only the external form (and furnishing) is obtained, without really serious content. Well, maybe the Russian intelligentsia in the person of actor Herman. But this character is believed, or not so much. (It was this actor who played Messing, and there are no special claims to his game.)
That's the whole show. Here are the gabists and the broken fate of a young girl (well, you can believe it), re-education in a hospital bed (“soap”) and “mask shows” (some believe, some do not).
I mean. In real life, people don’t behave like that. And in some places this series resembles the most common stamps from Brazilian "soap".
There are, of course, worse series. But to watch it or not to watch it, it's 50/50.
House with Lilies, Flowers of Sense-C and a Hundred-One Broken Heart
Perhaps the title of my review will seem strangely similar to the title of a third-rate paperback novel. And it seems right, because this is the impression that the series makes.
A long time ago, I learned one wisdom about Russian TV series, but it was this series that ruined my wisdom right on the root.
A Russian TV series may not be bad if it does not take place in the 21st century. Agree that this seems to be true. Modern TV series about the war are more or less watchable (I do not take into account Stalingrad, because this is not a series). Or, for example, “House of the Sun”, “Styliagi”, “Thunder” (the latter are especially good).
But "House with Lilies" - alas and ah! - is not on this list at all. Why?
This is (I will not hesitate to say) a complete, frank, absolute nonsense.
It feels like the script was written by a ten-year-old boy who saw a show about heroes - front-line soldiers. For example, such situations:
(a) An adult, married woman with a child (an odious figure) runs into the kitchen with a salt shaker in her hands and hysterically pours the contents into a pot of borscht. Why? Because the cook (along with the eternal love of her husband) cooks deliciously. So delicious that her husband praised her cooking! Not a scoundrel? The only thing missing is a cry: “This is retribution.” Oh, no. Enough. She said something like that.
(b) Twelve-year-old girl goes swimming with twenty-year-old boys. By the way, swimming naked, but omit this side of the question. In the heat of feelings for a twenty-year-old guy gives him a card with a note. Very nice, but the insidious twenty-year-old rival mocks the child in front of everyone, reading a note out loud. Yeah, what a competition! And the poor girl runs from grief to drown in deep waters. A dramatic twist.
In general, such crazy plot tricks in the series is full, and complements all the terrible play of wonderful actors. Okay, from Anna Gorshkova (the main altar of the series) I did not expect any heights, but here are the Makhoviks, Princes! Who would you think of... But they did not expect this from Krasnopolsky.

I just watched House with Lilies. This is the first series (film) that made me register for a movie search and write a review, so don’t judge strictly.
1. The series spans several generations, and not all of them have been happy. The life of the heroes flies so quickly, and one main character is replaced by another, younger. And when you look at them, you think that your life will also change.
2. As follows from point 1 – the conclusion is drawn: love and be happy today! because tomorrow may be too late.
3. The series House with Lilies touches on a very important topic of fathers and children. Unfortunately, it is a tragic truth that parents, wanting to do the best they can, kill the happiness in their children’s lives. We also see how the once determined and self-confident Lilya, ready to run for her happiness in the steppe, turns out to be broken by her father, a dictator. And then she also neglects the life of her eldest daughter, who is left without support is ready to climb into the loop.
4. The intertwining of fates, magical appearances are not the fictions of the writer, but the truth of life.

I didn’t think that my first review on the search for a Russian TV series! But it just so happened that this thing hooked me from the first minute and did not let go to the credits. There were, of course, things that seemed stupid, angry, annoying. But mostly, I can say that the series was successful.
The acting is amazing. I especially want to highlight Sergey Makhovikov, his game is simply beyond praise! This inimitable actor conveys all the emotions, feelings of his hero with his eyes and eyes. It was his play, his eyes that made him weep at particularly sad moments. I want to mention Olesya Sudzilovskaya. Before this series, I somehow treated her exactly, you can even say negatively, but here she is just good, very emotionally and decently conveys everything that should have come from her character. Denis Sailors was pleased. Well, and finally, the favorite, probably, of all viewers (especially TV viewers) is Kotya. A very charming, cheerful guy, an amazing smile, an optimistic attitude for life, and a kind, kind heart - his hero Konstantin simply cannot but like!
Thank you very much to the composer. The music is amazing. It is she who sets the mood for the whole series, it is from her that at certain moments goosebumps run through her body, and tears appear in her eyes.
Great show. I will review it more than once in my life. Thanks to the creators for the feeling.
It's a bad show. It is surprising that such directors as Uskov and Krasnopolsky lost their professionalism, and at the same time their conscience, filming a frank hack designed for an undemanding viewer. Very weak work, the script is not good for anything, consists of only stamps, the characters are written out primitively, because of which the actors in the frame sometimes look simply stupid, it seems that they do not know what to play, does not save even the participation of such famous and talented actors as Dobrynin, Sudzilovskaya, Frost, Rakov. Perhaps they starred in the series, relying on the well-known names of the directors, if they knew in advance that the result would be such a primitive, I think they would not agree.
And showing such series on the first channel is discrediting the channel and insulting the audience. Not always talented works in the past (the series “Shadows disappear at noon”, “Eternal call”) is a guarantee of the quality of any “creation” in the present. I’m not talking about the fact that one of the musical themes of the series uses a whole musical phrase from the romance of the composer A. Zhurbin to the series “Moscow Saga”. It is a shame that the bar set by these filmmakers in the past has long been beyond their reach. It is better not to shoot at all than to descend to this level.
It all started well. I mean the post-production phase. While watching the announcement of this film, I thought that finally there was a highly artistic epic about our lives, about the real life of various people in the country of the second half of the last century. All about the empire and the Union of the first half of the twentieth century. I mean for example “War and Peace”, “Life of Klim Samgin”, “White Guard”, “Shadows Disappear at Noon”, “Moscow Saga”, “Eternal Call”.
What did we end up with? A lifeless series without reflecting Soviet reality. There is only the smell of Mexican decorations. Judge for yourself: the whole film is based exclusively on “transatlantic” intrigues and skeletons in closets, such as the miraculous acquisition of a daughter, the sudden rebirth of a mother, the fantastic appearance of a pregnant girl on the doorstep of the house, failed weddings, etc.
Cheap, sliced from the Latin American series and somehow adapted to the pseudo-Soviet reality. This should be punished.
