And also boring, dull, stupid and absolutely no one needs it. The description of this “masterpiece” should actually be: “A group of young hysterical slackers shoots shit in lean oil” in a world hole on the edge of some American deafness. But not a hole with farts roaming in it led young morons here, but a dull mental hospital long ago suitable for demolition, in which something terrible and very stupid is hiding, because generally kill this miracle to death, or else it shakes and infuriates.
Once upon a time there was the Davis family, and somehow they were all producers. True, the boy Queen distinguished himself, who decided to debut in a very, very, very, almost vaginally narrow circles with his own work. My own job! Sounds proud! Well, if you are completely lazy to think about how to “shoot” a novelty, you can just review a bunch of horror films and take the main stamps from them. Don't bother, just take a couple! There will still be idiots who will look at your creation.
If you say the first associations, then conditionally, very conditionally, very, very conditionally, "Hostile" is a mixture of the second season of "American Horror Story" with the films "Grave Seekers" and "Turn the wrong way." Plus a little TV show "Dom-2". Terribly boring, hand-made lousy narrative has at least some dynamics only when retelling the legend of the hospital and in the finale. All the rest of the time, the writer and director devotes to the production of a universal visual sleeping pill, unaware that hundreds of such naive eccentrics trying to call themselves filmmakers have already been sufficiently trained on subjects of all ages from the other side of the screen. And the sleeping pills work again with great success.
What is particularly annoying (not to mention the sloppy shoot, the degrading plot and the disgusting play) is the casting. In my humble view, documentary students are at least not girls and boys from cheap village porn. Here the guys absolutely do not believe even as Stanislavsky, but as Darwin. Of course, some monkeys can outplay humans, but here we are faced with an absolute figurative inconsistency. The cast fits the typical students of vocational training on the outskirts of an urban town, you can not stutter about your involvement in journalism! Alas, Queen Davis thinks otherwise, so we get at the disposal of a bunch of faded, empty as bottles of wine from the dump characters who have nothing to empathize with – a glass of water in old age is impossible to serve. Until the very end you terribly hope, well, when they are finished, and only this feeling saves from the desire to escape from such a parody of horror.
Such parodies, devoid of humor and pretending to be young, filled with a concentrate of poisonous boredom and using only inflated stamps of a century ago, are now removed to the heap. With Queen Davis and Hostile, everything is clear as a stump on a clear day.
Where is the canyon of cinema dump from all over the world? Send the most powerful excavator with the deepest bucket!
Burrow and forget.
