" - People can't escape death. She always hides in the shadows.” The beginning of the drama seems nothing remarkable. Well, detective, the ghosts that lead him to the killer, Ogury's great play. But is this just the beginning (or was I so impressed with the end?).
Ishikawa Ango is a young, talented, ambitious detective, literally living his job. He has long lost all ties with family, friends and girls, and cannot imagine his life without solving crimes. But one day, through negligence at the crime scene, he gets shot in the head. By coincidence (or is it fate?) he remains alive. Surgery to remove a bullet is too dangerous for health, and Ishikawa becomes frightening - because then you will have to die again (stop the heart during surgery for a few minutes). And he refuses. When he comes to work, he realizes that he has a new ability to see dead people. What is it? Gift or curse? Without much thought at first, Ishikawa begins to use his abilities to solve crimes ... and at the same time, when there is not enough evidence to catch the perpetrator, he uses not entirely legal methods of obtaining information. But is it so important to catch and punish, and how not to cross the line between good and evil?
The drama is simple and concise, like most Japanese creations.
I swallowed 8 episodes in one evening and midnight, and then took a breather for a couple of days. This allowed me to breathe fresh air and reflect on the series. But the last series literally crushed me. It was as if I myself was on that verge, and one part of me wanted to punish the criminal, and the other understood that this is a line, a line that if you cross, you can never return. Was Ishikawa's choice the right one? There is no answer, because the world is not black and white. I understood only one thing - I want to continue, well, you can not leave the viewer like this.
Oguri Shun – well, again, the “man in a case” mode, most emotions are under control, besides he has something to hide (I mean ghosts). But when feelings made their way through this layer of mask, all feelings and emotions were in the palm of your hand, as if you were experiencing them yourself. I don’t know, most of my emotions coincided with the main character’s.
The rest of the actors are little known to me, and most of them do not see for the first time, and my rare appearance in Japanese dramas is affected.
There was nothing special about OST either. Everything corresponds, but mainly instrumental, and this is rarely catchy.
Verdict: watch, don't pass by, especially if you're a lover of detectives and mysticism, and Japanese dramas in general, and Oguri Shun in particular.
