The story of one conflict A very peculiar film was directed by Vladimir Zakharovich Dovgan. My acquaintance with his work began with three early paintings: “Three Days After Immortality” (1963), “The Death of a Squadron” (1965), “And Now Judge...” (1966), each of which was liked and remembered. I can’t say that about The Inconvenient Man, because the tandem of writers wrote a frankly controversial story. And this is all the more strange because behind the shoulders of Alexander Gelman already had a successful tape of a similar direction “Prize” (1974), and 2 years after “The Inconvenient Man”, he will shoot a beautiful picture “We, the Undersigned” (1980). “The Inconvenient Man” is not saved even by excellent actors Viktor Miroshnichenko in the role of factory director Oleg Pavlovich, Evgeny Kindinov in the role of party trader Vasily Mikhailovich, Valery Nosik in the role of foreman Bronislav Ukhanov. If the character of the director of the plant looks alive and truly whole, then the party club of Kindinov noticeably loses against his background. Especially - Brigadier Nosik, who can be characterized by one phrase: "neither fish nor meat." The beginning of the picture promised something socially acute with “breaking copies” and “fight of interests”, but closer to the middle of the first series, interest in what is happening somewhat faded due to the extreme youth of the “instigator” of the conflict. And although the screenwriters tried to “grow up” Alexei Verstov (Andrey Kazantsev), “attributing” a couple of years of study at the law school, he still looks like a kid against the background of the rest of the team, and it is quite difficult to believe that he “governs” – quite difficult. In addition, the very “root of the conflict” is puzzling, because the brigade is struggling to work... 2 times more! Far from immediately the viewer will be explained that locksmiths also want to receive 2 times more. It makes you smile because the norm is almost dogma. Today you are paid 120 rés for 1000 parts (say); tomorrow the rate may increase significantly, but the salary will not grow so much. For this, there were completely different methods of payment: “piecework”, “premium”, etc. Those who are “native to the USSR” are well aware that the whole conflict looks “sucked out of the finger”, especially since the main “culprit” of the unsanctioned experiment does not care about the public good. Rather, he - like the mythical Narcissus - admires himself as the cause of a raised "wave." And here no arguments can change the circumstance that it is not he in the collective, but the collective around him.
P.S. There are two inaccuracies on the film page. First, the total time of the 2 series is 127 minutes (1.03 + 1.04). The second: the film you can watch is Azhdar Ibragimov’s 1985 work The Inconvenient Man.
