The show was a success. Everyone has mental anomalies. Features of mind, character, temperament, beliefs. They make us individual. But growing, they can turn into pathologies. Especially under the pressure of stress and other adverse factors. We rarely see them around us and almost never ourselves. But in the film they are very noticeable. And if the director properly provokes them!
It is these personality traits, or rather, one single feature - hysteria - that the series illustrates. To be exact, there's a whole bunch of hysterical disorders. Cyril and Angelica, Victoria and her grandmother... Before his death, Senya shows himself to be not the person he seemed to be until then (silent, concrete and tough). As it turned out, it was play, or, as psychiatrists call it, "demonstrative behavior." In public. Faced with difficulties, Senya Raskis, got drunk and whimpered.
People with similar traits are attracted to each other. At least with hysterical disorders. They help each other maintain illusions. And infect them. In the presence of such people, even people who are not very inclined to this usually terrify. And children adopt this behavior in adults. Be that as it may, the conceit, fantasies and antics of the main character cause that laughter, then spit literally from the first frames of the film.
That is, the idea of the film is quite good, first of all, its freshness. We're used to most movies showing people surreally wise. It's good to keep your dreams alive. But it is necessary to honestly and critically look at the course of his own life, and everyone may seem to himself a rare eccentric. If you compare yourself to never making a big mistake movie heroes.
In fact, we are never as wise, intelligent, talented, honest, generous, generous, and independent as we think we are, or as cinematography shows us. But sometimes I want to see the real life in the movies (I do not now take the probability for Cinderella to marry a rich man twice, or the size of bribes and fees shown in the series, but only the probability of making an extremely unreasonable decision on an important issue for us).
So, the plot came out quite interesting and fresh (if you forgive the standard for the genre of film stamps). And no matter how consciously the director and the writers of the script have achieved this effect. Play actors (at least the main characters) is quite on the level. A decent soundtrack. Everything else, let’s say, does not spoil the impression, although not by any means masterpiece.
