White Studies, or Leni Riefenstahl in the Dolomites Logical preparation for White Madness. There is a ski race again in the Alps. Against the background of this event, a beautiful girl from the Dolomites is seduced. Two men are trying to win her heart.
This means that we are not so much a competition of men in courtship as a demonstration of physical strength and perseverance on the part of a woman (Leni Riefenstahl is magnificent and charming), as well as a lot of snow gags. Arnold Funk will bring all this to perfection in his "mountain comedy" - "White Madness". In the meantime, we can follow a fragmentary narrative. Acquaintance with the heroes will take place against the background of green alpine meadows. Then there will be some scenes in the hotel for climbers. Then everything will move to Funk’s favorite element: skiing, mountains and snow.
This comedic and completely unassuming film receives a completely different interpretation when viewed through the biographies of the actors. About Leni Riefenstahl, the charming star of this tape is known to everyone. But the stories of her partners are no less interesting. Paul Gretz will flee the Third Reich in a few years, fearing for his life, given his ethnic background. He will escape to California, but he will not live to see the outbreak of World War II and his 50th birthday.
Hans Schneeberger seems like a cute comedian. In fact, in addition to acting, he was one of the operators of Arnold Funk, and in the past - a hero of the First World War, who received an award from the hands of Emperor Franz Joseph.
In the First world took part and actor Louis Trenker. He fought in Trento. After World War II, he was accused of opportunism. However, after a while, the charges will be dropped and he will continue his career in film.
Different fates, different people. Against the backdrop of the Alps and the utilitarian-inspired creation of Arnold Funk, they look like innocent victims of Moloch, with whom the whole of Europe will have to face after a while. That's what I was thinking about watching this unassuming tape.
