"Bangkok Hilton" in Indian. Well, I just don't have words for what movie. I'm still in shock. The plot is taken from the Hollywood film "Bangkok Hilton" (with Nicole Kidman in the title role), which also shocked me at the time. But this is India, this is Mahesh Bhatt, this is Sridevi and Sanjay Dut and it is much more piercing, brighter and more natural.
Awesome movie! It combines a great game of all actors, a superb script, magnificent directing and of course extraordinary music, combining the oriental flavor of the film and broken human lives! The main character shakes with his perseverance, strength of spirit. Her salvation is primarily her merit. Sridevi, in my opinion, brilliantly coped with the role of doomed and at the same time not humbled, ready to fight for life to the end. Perseverance and dedication Roshni finally take over the "rotten" foundations of the prison Hong Kong.
And this is also the merit of her friend Jaggu (Sanjay Dutt). Sanju is simply irresistible in this role. Everything is so realistic and shrillly executed, I had tears in my throat stuck when I saw his eyes during these brutal beatings.
And the bastard Rahul Malhotra, who planted drugs on her, finally got what he deserved. Oh, I hated him the whole movie, I just wanted to kill him. Broke a girl all her life. It’s not the first time he’s sent a girl to hell. The finale of the film is very fair, quiet, calm, without clarifying the relationship.
Sridevi is generally irresistible here. Her huge eyes full of horror and despair, her shuddering while weeping, her naivety and innocence, just turn everything inside. Tears cannot be avoided.
Mahesh-ji knows who to shoot in his films. This is the first time I’ve seen this movie (although I just watched it today). What is happening is so real that you feel the atmosphere of the film with your skin: especially the attempt to escape from prison, emotions just go off the scale!
Admirable film. Amazing. Teaches a lot. About everything coming back. Okay. And betrayal and love. About redemption. Life gives you a second chance. After all, as it turned out, the person was a victim of betrayal, because of this he left, he had his own reasons for it, but he later condemned himself for it and suffered all his life. Lost love, distorted his destiny. The whole life after betrayal is the punishment of oneself. And here comes the daughter. And everything in life turns around. Anupam Kher - not even words are needed, I will say only one thing - Incomparable!
A very strong film, deep. You can't write anything. And how she immediately realized that he was really her father when he told the policeman at the airport: I am her father. She immediately knew that it was so, because deep down she had always known it and had loved it for a long time.
Again, I don't understand why there's not a single review. Do the Hindus not value the work of Mahesh Bhatta? Was it too lazy to write? How? Why? People, Indian film lovers, where are you? Why not share your impressions of such films? Yes, very hard to watch, yes, hits like a shovel on the head, yes, then you recover from what you saw and lose speech for a long time. But, not all comedies and light movies to watch, sometimes and shake yourself up need to be properly. And for this, in my opinion, the films Mahesh Bhatta, Subhash Ghay and Govinda Nihalani are ideal. Serious, strong, piercing and incredibly realistic. Everyone should watch.
