The Million Hunt Wild Sisters is a joint Filipino-American 1974 film directed by Manila director Eddie Romero. This not very well-known director shot pictures of the Explo genre inviting American actors who are not very popular at home to his films. Probably the most famous of his creation is the Bloody Beast, after which Eddie became famous among the gurus of fans of films of this kind. That’s not without American beauty in this picture.
One of the generals who has a very tough policy of a country unknown to us is trying to smuggle a million dollars into it. The rebels learn about this, they begin to develop a plan to seize money, but a traitor is found in their camp and the operation fails. As a result of the failure of the operation, two girls find themselves in prison, from where a police officer helps them escape with her boyfriend, in the hope that they will help her get a million. This is the Filipino action will unfold in front of the viewer who wants to see this film.
The script was written by Harry Corner and H. Franco Moon. He doesn't seem bad. Quite typical for an exploit - sexplo paintings. But the directorial implementation of all this leaves much to be desired. Not quite logical actions of the characters, their funny, awkward dialogues and actions make this picture not the best representative in this genre. Fighting scenes with shootings generally leave much to be desired. Fights involving beauties are also too absurd and not at all watchable. When watching them, I did not leave a smile, everything looks so funny and cheap. Of course, all this can be attributed to the cost of operational cinema and, in principle, the entire grindhouse, but here sagging in this regard is too obvious.
Acting here you will not see much, it is simply not here, but for this genre it is quite normal. The only thing that somehow saves from boredom when watching is the beauty Sheri Caffaro, a beautiful actress, it was nice to see her throughout the picture. All other actresses do not shine with special beauty. Here you will not find an abundance of naked female bodies, which is inherent in such films, only minimal undressing to the waist and a small striptease, and this is also not plus yes pictures of the exploit genre.
This movie looks extremely cheap, not only on budget, but on everything that happens on the screen. The output turned out quite average representative of the Filipino operational cinema. You can see that everything was shot in haste. E. Romero has more thought out in the director’s plan of the picture. I can recommend the film only to the most stubborn exploits - fans. Avoid the others and pass by.
