Yoshimitsu Win! Japanese fantastic action movie about ninja. This sentence says, perhaps, everything. Fans of the films of the 80s about medieval spies should be delighted with this tape. There are endless fights, shurikens, and incredibly protracted jumps, and harsh looks of the good guys - exactly what aroused delight among schoolchildren in those years. After watching "Ninja Terminator", "Nine Deaths of the Ninja" and similar "ninja-exploitation", I began to treat the word "ninja" quite wary, so I missed this picture. Now, after watching Kate Amamiya's creation, I came to the conclusion that I had lost nothing. Despite the love of films of those years, I doubt that pagoda-shaped tanks firing lasers, walking tanks, combined with the creations of Lucas and Izbah on Chicken Legs, light shurikens, samurai with swords and earphones-sensors of scream, not to mention jump-flights, can cause admiration.
The plot is described in the annotation in sufficient detail and there is nothing to add to this, except that there is nothing to correct: the action takes place not in the future, but in an alternative universe (in some moments you can see two moons in the sky). Movies like this have never been considered a priority. Emphasis is placed on the cyborg, resembling (possibly even served as a prototype) the hero of the game Tekken Yoshimitsu, who crumbles together with a squad of samurai evil cyborgs-ninja.
The weakest link in the film-play of actors. The fighting also leaves much to be desired. The main advantage of the picture I consider costumes. They look pretty decent even now. The visual effects here are at the average level of those years, but here you can make an adjustment to the specifics of the country of the manufacturer, which even now, it is not clear why, seeks to combine high-quality visual series with terrifying editing techniques that are also sinful to use in cartoons (for example, "Gojira: Fainaru uôzu").
In general, it turned out quite a good children's film, reminiscent of the one released a year earlier "Masters of the Universe", but not up to its level by almost all indicators.
You can watch the film if you have a desire to ponostalgia, or look at some interesting costumes. Some may see it as a comedy because of the ridiculous and sometimes even absurd scenes and dialogue. It is difficult to advise to watch or not an average fantastic fairy tale, although children may like it. I believe that in this scenario it would be better to make a beautiful cartoon, which would certainly become more popular.
Thank you very much.
