Tarzan changes sex Somewhere in Africa, a German scientific expedition discovers a white girl whom the local tribe reveres as a goddess. The expedition members capture the girl and are going to study her, and first take her to Hamburg. The girl takes under her care a young scientist Thoren, to whom the girl managed to get attached. Toren gradually begins to feel to the captive not only scientific, but also purely male interest.
Meanwhile, in Germany, the wealthy shipowner Theo Amelongen begins to suspect that the girl is his granddaughter Liana, who disappeared after a shipwreck fifteen years ago. After returning to the expedition, Amelongen is convinced of his rightness, and settles a new-found relative in his mansion. Together with her, Thoren settles in the mansion, who tries to introduce Liana to the benefits of civilization. The only person who doesn't like Liana's return is Victor, Amelongen's nephew, who was previously his sole heir. To get rid of an unwanted rival in the struggle for inheritance, Victor is ready to take any measures, even murder.
Coming out on German screens, the film caused a real stir and had a huge box office success. Not least, it was caused by the fact that at the beginning of the film, Liana, performed by sixteen-year-old debutante Marion Michael, was dressed only in a loincloth. For the audience at the time, this degree of female nudity was extremely unusual. In itself, the plot of the picture, although entertaining, is not too original and is, in fact, a female version of Tarzan, whose adventures by that time were widely known to viewers around the world. The popularity of the film allowed the producers to shoot a continuation of the adventures of Liana, which no longer had such a noisy success.
