Privy tribunal. Apparently, the first part of this film was very successful, if you decided to make a sequel. Probably sold well on the media, because it went straight to the video. That movie wasn’t perfect, and it’s especially noticeable now, but I love it. The second part, as in most cases, is largely inferior to the first.
I don’t know why Dacascos didn’t appear in the sequel, because the story of his character in the new film continued. Instead, the main role was A. Sabato Jr. I had heard that name, but I don’t remember seeing anything from his filmography. Somehow his face reminds me of that of E. Garfield. From this film it is difficult to judge which actor he is, but charisma, as for me, he lacks.
Unfortunately, having retained the shortcomings of the plot, script, staging the action of the first film, he got new ones, which in the original were advantages. There is no charismatic and colorful villain. Abbel was a very memorable, convincing and well-written antagonist, his presence adorned the tape. There is no such level of villain near. Significantly spoils the overall impression of the fact that the director is too carried away by self-repeat and offers almost nothing new in terms of plot, characters, script, action. The script repeats itself more than once, from whole scenes to some dialogues in which only a few words are swapped to avoid complete self-copying.
As in the first film, there were no changes, nothing new, no corrections. Also, in places it seems good, and in places it is clumsy, even very much. It is the same level of installation.
The idea of a secret tribunal is good. The trick is that villains can be called such with a stretch, they can be understood and justified, even more than in the picture with Mark. They did not do such bad things and were right in their own way. That’s if you put aside the moral side of the issue. A more interesting and tense story could be built on this if the creators took into account the mistakes of the first part, preserved its merits and came up with more of their own in terms of the script and worked the characters better. If the authors did, it could be a decent sequel.
