Little-known original of the famous sequel with Lorenzo Lamas. There are no such famous actors in Jay Welfel’s film, so he got lost in the background of B-movie, although he clearly wins in terms of professionalism. Suffice it to say that this is not a thrash, but a film with a relative budget, so the special effects are made decently, and there is no noticeable cheapness. The monster is mostly invisible, which can immediately remind the viewer of both the Predator and the Forbidden Planet, and the characters are better drawn. And in general, here we are dealing with good suspense scenes, where the survivors are locked in a car that will be guarded by an invisible beast.
Directed by Jay Welfel from the same filmmakers as Jeff Leroy. Of course, he made a lot of all sorts of horror class B, of which "Invisible Evil" is one of the most famous. It also stars Tim Tomerson - actor, known to the general public primarily for "Transers", 6 part of which in the future will shoot Welfel. Therefore, it is not surprising that the sequel was directed by Jeff Leroy, on whose films Welfel later worked. I liked the original more than the sequel, which is pretty mediocre even for thrashing. Cameriness clearly benefited him, because it allowed him to better develop the main storyline, and the director to save money for better film and special effects.
