The offspring The film is low-budget. Not for a movie. There are no popular actors or directors. Yes, and in general, the production is not Hollywood, and not particularly popular Canadian film studios, specializing mainly in author's films.
These details, for the most part, sharply lower the rating of the film in the eyes of the audience. In the case of 'Natives', this is exactly what happened. The film is not well known, but it is worth it.
Of course, it does not shine with the original story. The story of how children, exhausted by foster parents, decide to get rid of their guardians, is far from new. However, it is all about how it is presented.
Director David Weaver has a clear talent. The banal story turns into a satirical and ironic film. It is in the film, because "Native" can not be attributed to any particular genre. It's not really a comedy or a drama. It's just satire mixed with irony.
Of course, this film has flaws. One of them is not fully revealed characters. The main characters are four children, shown well, their characters are “revealed”. However, secondary characters remained behind the scenes, although they also play a significant role in the development of the plot. But this detail did not spoil my impression. Anyway, it's a good movie. I liked it.
