Not too lucky the classic of the literary western Louis Lamour on the film adaptation of his works. It seems for the film version of the novel “Morton Harper’s Mistake” picked up a good team. But the result was mediocre.
Ned Bannon, wounded by cattle hijackers and left to die by them, is accidentally picked up by the next westward caravan. Having recovered, he, walking with the caravan, suddenly learns that the settlers are purposefully moving into the green valley, which belongs to his adoptive father, and this contact is fraught with serious gun violence.
It turned out such a straightforward and somewhat crumpled plot western. To meet an hour of twenty screen time, the book was very cut. Made well, as always textured in the westerns of Joel McCree, looks normal Virginia Mayo, but the film itself without a highlight and completely passable. You might even like it if you’re a fan of classics. And, in general, it is worth watching only for the sake of the actors.
