Worlds by Jose Mogique Marinench: Black Exorcism After not the most successful philosophical films (The Awakening of the Beast and Finis Hominis), Marine returned to the theme of horror. He tells a good story about himself - director Marinsch, who finds himself in a strange situation - he is haunted by spirits.
With every ten minutes we see more cases of demons, and gradually we find ourselves in a gloomy dungeon, where a frightened director hides himself watching the suffering of the victims.
And you know who the torturer is, his alter ego. Yes, yes, "Ze from the grave."
Both roles were played by Marinche. He played well. The last half hour has been very tough. It is quite normal for BDSM videos, but for a big movie - too much of course.
I'll give myself a little distraction. I think Marinche is a very controversial person. Of course, he is talented, besides – a real man-orchestra (in one person, writer, director and producer). Only here, his contradictions are very visible in the work. All his work, in essence, tells about the struggle with himself, with his dark essence. Perhaps Marinsch had to suppress something in himself (which he could not resist), or hide something. And, the reviewed film very accurately shows us his inner experiences. The whole gallery of pretentious cruelty immediately betrays his personal fears. All right, then.
I will not go into details and emphasize that this is solely my own judgment based solely on the study of the feature films of Marine.
If there was a very special expressive aesthetic in the early Ze films, as if Robert Wien had lived in Brazil for ten years and decided to make a movie, now I saw just the torment. This is not my taste at all.
Strictly speaking, the first half of the picture was a tribute to the fashion so famous in those years “Exorcist” Friedkin, and the ending is a curtsey to the successes of “Ze” from the coffin.
In the end: Overall, I didn't like the picture. So I loved the aesthetic of Marinsha disappeared, and in its place I saw a straightforward display of cruelty. A more or less average assessment was made only due to the really original study of the plot.
