Nanjing Massacre The film is not for impressionable - definitely 18+, heavy, shock and heartbreaking film - a historical drama. Fully based on real events, with documentary footage. Many scenes are accurately reproduced from horrific photos of the war years. Only rape is not shown openly here (almost the only censorship in the film).
The film is made by the Chinese, who historically suffered cruelly from the actions of the monsters – the Japanese Nazis during the 2nd World War (if officially – just before it began). And the Japanese did not apply restrictions imposed by international law in the treatment of Chinese prisoners.
The Chinese got no less from the Japanese than the Jews or the inhabitants of the USSR from the Germans. Being allies of the German Nazis, the bloody Japanese imperialists were also distinguished by brutal cruelty to the conquered peoples. They massively, with medieval cruelty, mockingly, killed not only soldiers, but even civilians, women, children, the elderly, without sparing anyone. They committed genocide, the extermination of another people. The film tells about this horrific war inhuman crime - the extermination and torture of a large city of Chinese civilians by the Japanese.
The film clearly shows all the horrors of war - in its most terrible manifestation - the suffering of innocent civilians at the hands of enemy soldiers. Watching the suffering of people, how they tried to escape from this hell, from this persecution, you physically feel all this pain, and great pity.
And although the film is very difficult to watch, I think it is necessary to watch - because you need to know history, know what war is, know how cruel the Nazis were, know that not only people in the USSR suffered from the Nazi plague of the 2nd World War.
