Universal love " - You don't know what you want.
I know. I want to pay for the apartment, eat, be warm and not bored.
Before us is the story of one couple, where a man assured that he wanted to “love one woman who will embody all for him”, and a woman had an attitude to free love and a desire to “love all men as one”. What did that lead to? The fact that the magic word “wedding” still conquered our hippie artist. Well, then according to the scheme: dresses, receptions, lunches, dinners, mink manto, maid ... boredom.
However, this is not an ordinary film about the “joys” of family life a la francaise, both in plot and design. The film is based on the novel by Christian Rochefort and has feminist habits, over which he very subtly ironizes. The bourgeois, of course, will also get.
The soundtrack to the tape are the legendary Art Ensemble of Chicago with their avant-garde jazz and unforgettable performance, who wrote their "Sophia's Stanzas" especially for the film - an album worthy of the attention of all jazz lovers.
Despite the presence in the film of such famous faces of the New Wave as Bernadette Lafond and Michelle Duchossois - this tape I would rather refer to the discharge of cinematic and gourmet than classic and must-see.
"Sophia's Stanzas" is a worthwhile thing if you like French humor, appreciate well-chosen light and color in the frame and of course are not indifferent to jazz motifs.
To all French cinema gourmets, I recommend it.
