Skeletons in the closet. Very high-quality movies. Life, real, real. That was the realism I liked. And at the same time, fascinating, not dull household sketches. Unpretentious beginning does not foreshadow sharp and unexpected plot twists. But for all its whimsicality, these plot moves are devoid of fantasy. They are real and can happen to any of us. The only thing that was “by the ears” for me was the main character’s obsession with the mysterious Anamics. But I think it’s because, fortunately, I have not encountered such people in real life.
I liked the sharp shift of the poles “right – guilty”, as well as the fact that none of the heroes of the story is perfect, almost everyone has his hidden skeleton in the closet. Very competently and appropriately included scenes of the past, explaining the current situation, and slightly discharge tension.
In addition to the well-written script, I liked the actors. Not faked, not overplayed. Jimmy Shergill is already firmly established in my favorites. Once again, I was convinced that it was not in vain. Sanjay Suri - Onira's favorite actor - also did not fail. And although I did not quite feel his hero, he was in his place. Juhi Chawla - finally I was able to see her not a cheerful simpleton, but albeit an ex, but still Miss India. Well-groomed, elegant, sophisticated, vulnerable. Urmila Matondkar - I just love her. No reason. Rehaan Engineer - the plot engine - that's how I felt it, even though his character will also be one of the obsessed. You did well. Human pity for his hero.
The delicacy of our translators smiled. The hero, a hefty boogie, almost cries as he remembers being raped in prison. In his memoirs, his hands are wringed and unambiguously turned against the wall. In the original, "Rape" is clearly heard. The translation is innocent: “I was beaten there!” Through the tears, oh, a big guy beats especially hurt. But a movie without black, don't think about it. There are no dance songs here.
The ending of the film is also not quite typical for Indian cinema: evil is not completely punished, and the innocent have suffered. As in life, yes.
Fans of typical Bollywood, as well as lovers of pink glasses, will not like the film. The rest would recommend to familiarize yourself with how someone else’s skeleton in someone else’s closet can change your own life.
