"Here I am, send me." An amazing documentary about the real persecution of Christians in the USSR. Step aside and the KGB is already watching you. Unfortunately, this has been kept quiet and hidden from Western countries. Faith in God was equated with treason, and Christians became enemies of the people. Exiling, arresting or declaring people mentally deranged was normal for those times.
It is part of our history and we cannot change anything. There is no reason to blame the Soviet regime. And the idea is not in this, as it seems to me, but in order to show how faithful people are to the Creator and do not renounce Him.
No wonder in the final credits is an excerpt from the Bible, the book of Revelation:
I know your works; behold, I have opened the door before you, and no one can shut it; you have little power, and have kept my word, and have not denied my name.
If everything is clear with the plot (i.e. the film is based on real events), then the performance itself seems amateurish, and it is quite difficult to perceive what is happening on the screen. In addition, Russian is clearly unprofessional translation, generally kills the desire to watch ... but this is no longer a claim to the director.
I think that the film will be useful not only for Christians, but also for those who want to learn more about the history of the Soviet Union and the political regime with its Iron Curtain. Thanks to Tim Rogers for such a damning picture!
