An unusual porn movie. I have to say right away that I watched the shortened R rated version (76 minutes) and therefore, unfortunately, I cannot give an estimate of the candid scenes from the full, Hardcore X-rated version (85 minutes). However, I don’t think the full version has any major impact on the overall perception of the film, meaning it doesn’t make it any less unconventional and more typically pornographic. What does this non-standard mean? In the story. Yes, this pornographic film has a more integral and interesting plot than many other even non-pornographic / erotic films. Perhaps in this case it is worth using the word “conditionally”. Of course, there are scenes with real sex in the film, however, which also emphasizes the seriousness of the director, there are not so many of them (in the R rated version). Moreover, they are filmed so that the explicit scenes are more like erotic than typical pornography à la Deep Throat. I even think that if women are interested in films of this genre, then this film will be the ideal candidate for the first acquaintance with this genre, and just a great choice for those who want to see something unusual in this genre. I repeat, despite all the above, this film is still a pornographic film, so you should not expect anything more from it that would not only go beyond the scope of this genre, but would be a different genre. Those viewers who want to watch some drama, it is better not to look in this section for something super unusual, something that would be more than just a porn film.
As for the plot. Like I said, it's quite interesting. A young girl enters a psychiatric hospital (or rather, she is taken there by the police) with a split personality. The young doctor tries to solve this problem, and also to get to the bottom of what could have happened to her, that is, to the causes of this dual personality. One character is modest, quiet and introverted, while the other is extroverted, expressive and sexually liberated or even aggressive. I can’t say that in the film we see typical scenes of “psychoanalyst-client”, rather there is only a hint, simple conversations between the doctor and the patient (without specifying the method of psychological help). It is also difficult to know from the film how justified the main character is in such a closed institution and why she was in it. In the course of the film, we will not be shown any reasons (whether she killed someone or injured herself or attempted suicide) that would prompt the authorities to place the main character in this institution. This is the plot of the film.
Throughout the film, we will see flashbacks of the main character, conversations with the doctor, sexual fantasies of the main character (here I did not understand which of the characters of the main character sees them), as well as the daily life of this very doctor. As I said, for this genre, the plot and its embodiment are executed quite well, and all the open scenes seem to logically follow the storyline. For example, the doctor and his wife. It's perfectly normal to assume that any married doctor in the real world has sex with his wife. We don't usually get that kind of detail, but if you think about it, that's what's really going on, right? I mean, if you compare it to the pornographic film Hard Sensation (1980), then all the explicit scenes resonate with the main plot, we kind of see the general plot and artificially nested sex scenes, which often just contradict the main plot. In this film, all explicit scenes are logically related to the previous frames.
As for the candid scenes. As I said in the R-rated version, there are not many of them. The ones that exist can be called soft porn, but they are far from erotic. However, they are still not as frank as they usually are. I want to say that I would rate the candid shots as “Ok”, i.e. not bad, but not great either. No, the reason is not the main character / actress, because she is quite attractive. It may not be a good selection or context. In general, they are not memorable. It is difficult for me to state this more clearly, but from my point of view, all the forces are thrown on the plot, not on “eroticism”. The problem is not their frankness, but that from my point of view, they all look dull for various reasons.
