Web of lies In India, the film was released in two languages. In Telugu it sounded like Vaishali (Vaishali). This is the name of the main character - a young woman found drowned in the bathroom of her apartment under mysterious circumstances. And in Tamil it was called Eeram, which translates as “moisture”, “water”. The clear liquid in this film is really everywhere. She is a symbol of the main character and appears in the frame with her. Water is an expression of her emotions, both joyful and sad, and even angry. Fragments of the film, telling about the past, when the heroine was still alive, are filled with bright color. The present is immersed in water, as if everything is happening in the blue-green waves of the Indian Ocean. And only bright red spots, as a symbol of danger, blood and at the same time eternal love, do not fade in these moisture-soaked scenes. The aesthetic solution of the film pleases the eye with its beauty and speaks to the mass audience the language of simple associations that give a simple key to the main mystery.
In Russian, the name of the picture was adapted as “Bessilence”. And this word is also reflected in the content. A powerless man trapped in fateful circumstances. However, these circumstances did not arise from the will of evil fate, not as a punishment of the Lord and not as the pressure of karma of past births, but as a result of lies, envy and meanness of man. It is said that the poor envy the rich. But no one is as jealous of each other as one rich man is of a happier neighbor. Money can buy almost anything except happiness. Out of envy, people begin to slander, launch false rumors, weave a web of gossip. And wrapped around the victim in many layers, she is able to strangle her in her sticky embrace. Trust him who is worthy of trust and do not listen to the evil tongues of unfamiliar people and envious people. Otherwise, slander will plant terrible seeds in the soul and sprout alienation, suspicion and destruction of relationships. But it is so difficult to follow simple advice, because the path of truth is thorny and narrow, and the path of lies is wide and smooth.
The thriller is intertwined with mysticism and flavored with a sweet balm of melodrama. Without elements of the latter, there is little mass Indian cinema. Beautiful shots, bright actors, quite an interesting story. But in some moments, the action is set too “South Indian”, and with a number of scenes too wise. But there are many beautiful moments. Slowly flying myriads of tiny water balls splashes. Traces of women's bare feet emerging from nowhere. The scarlet veiltail, beating in the knots of a black net, and the face of Vaishali, painted by streams of rain flowing down the glass - few viewers will leave indifferent.
