Anthology of the apogee of bad computer graphics In fact, “Summer of Massacre” is an anthology consisting of 4 and a half stories, while the stories are very different in both the plot and the quality of the production. But everything in order.
Part one.
Pros: First of all, this is an unpretentious plot, and of course, action. Almost the whole story is the incessant killing of random people by the main villain-psychopath. The story is very cheerful and exciting. The insanity on the screen does not let you off the monitor. The way the hero drinks people is very interesting to watch. Good camera work, good editing, good staging, and the actors play well.
Cons: Little practical effect. But compared to what comes next, it's forgivable.
Bottom line: best short, 9 out of 10
Part two
Pros: This story, oddly enough, takes the plot, we have a transvestite who has a huge tumor on his head, and his half-sister, together with friends, decide to dump him so that he does not suffer. This is a slasher, but with an interesting story. Operating work, installation and staging are also at the level. The actors are not annoying, but the main villain played very well.
Cons: I didn’t really expect it, but some of the special effects were done at Sergei A’s level. You had a lot of money, you could throw the unfortunate stroller with a dummy, no, let's draw it shitty.
Bottom line: worse than the first, but overall lookable and interesting, 7 out of 10
Part three.
Pros: Good production and editing. Characters and acting are not annoying. (One of the characters is similar to Saakashvili.) The villain came out very colorful. And some other murder scenes.
Cons: Here, the director decided to make the story a little confusing, and it ruined it. The story itself is full of inconsistencies and holes, and the logic of the heroes’ actions is very lame (in previous stories, the characters behaved more adequately). Well, the apogee of wretchedness is the city painted in the style of Sergey A. (!) and even a hospital corridor drenched in blood (!!!). Seriously, they just took pictures, cut them up and edited them like this is a hospital with offices. There are also a lot of night scenes, which is not very pleasant, but at least there is lighting. And the director decided to show everyone his bloodlust and ... (spoiler).
Bottom line: this story is even worse than the previous one, in many ways inferior to it in all aspects, but still it is better than the next 4 out of 10.
Part four.
Pros: Alas, but only the idea of this story was interesting, I tried to find at least more pluses, but no.
Cons: here they are in bulk. First, you can clearly see that at the time of filming this story, almost all the money went to the previous ones, and secondly, there is just some apogee of wretched special effects. No, I love it when the painted soldiers beat up others like them, but here almost the whole story consists of photoshop graphics. Forests, meadows, night sky, cave - all this is stupidly Photoshopped and mounted. Irritating. Actors, other than the priest, don't even try. The story is sucked out of a finger (the next slain are avenging their death). Savings come to the point that the villain costume from the previous story migrated to this one! And the director decided to show even more bloodlust and killed ... (spoiler). I understand everything, but just mountains of corpses (really mountains) somehow do not go.
Bottom line: worst story, 1 in 10
Part half.
Here I will explain, at the very beginning, the police surround some warehouse, and then we are shown that there is a complete sodomy, which was arranged by 3 murderers. In the intervals between the stories, these same killers take turns giving interviews, well, after the last story ... (there is also a spoiler).
Here I can not even highlight any pros and cons, because it is just a piece of history, extremely poorly disclosed. I'll just say that the scale here has grown enormously: there are helicopters and a lot of police. The ending of the film is very symbolic of what happened after watching the last story.
Bottom line for the whole movie: If you're going to see this movie, look at the first two stories, the third one at your discretion, but if you don't like it, feel free to rewind the fourth one, because the end is quite worth it.
