Something like a little prequel to S.H.I.E.L.D. With good dynamics, plot. Fury and Coulson, it seems, are heavily computerized, very fresh. But the ending ruined it. Very crude and primitive. The heroine became a god and everyone, with serious bells and finally spit on the protective suit, broke down.
"Captain Marvel" - a great solo for the new to the MCU heroine Carol Danvers, who is trying to deal with their abilities, taken from nowhere, and at the same time restore their past, forgotten after some incident. Well, at the same time untie the tangle of intergalactic alien intrigues and prevent the invasion of aliens on our old-good Earth.
Strictly speaking, Captain Marvel is built like most solo projects of the universe, diluting the linear narrative with flashbacks that reveal secrets of the past not only to the viewer, but also to Carol Danvers herself. The hero with amnesia is to some extent already a hackneyed script move, but in my opinion, it works well here. In the course of the story, all the key moments of Carol’s past are clarified, while revealing to her the true essence of the alien conflict in which the heroine is drawn. In general, I have no complaints about history personally.
I liked the characters for the most part. Brie Larson is simply gorgeous in character, insanely cute and cozy, while she definitely feels the hidden power corresponding to her heroine. Sam Jackson returned to the image of Nick Fury, only younger and less experienced. And Ben Mendelson and Jude Law, well... They are, so to speak, but they have nothing to play here. Of course, it is nice to see familiar actors, but the tape in my opinion does not allow to properly reveal their skills.
How good is Captain Marvel? The fighting scenes pleased me, Carol’s key-beating power is directly felt through the screen, and the special effects finale gives a sense of the unfolding power of the heroine. Visually, by the way, the film looks very good. Graphics do not catch the eye for the most part, and the tape itself is very bright and rich in relation to the color.
Verdict: 'Captain Marvel' is a beautiful entertaining blockbuster about one of the strongest heroines of the MCU. It has everything you need, and even a little more.
"Captain Marvel" is a real fireworks in the world of comic books, which deserves the highest ratings! This film is a bright, dynamic and inspiring adventure that will not leave indifferent any viewer.
Brie Larson as Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel is the epitome of power and charisma. Her character is not just a superhero - she is a symbol of unbending will and endless courage. Larson easily copes with physically complex tricks and a deeply developed character, showing the true evolution from an ordinary person to a powerful protector of the universe.
Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury and Ben Mendelsohn as Talos are a godsend for the film. Their on-screen chemistry and comedic talent give the tape a special charm and lightness. Jackson, as always, is on top, and Mendelsohn is surprisingly good as an antagonist with unexpected motives.
The directorial duo Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck did a great job creating a fascinating and emotionally rich plot that skillfully weaves elements of fiction and action. They were able to convey the spirit of the comics, while preserving the originality and freshness of the presentation.
Visual effects and combat scenes are a separate chapter of Captain Marvel’s success. Each frame is made with impeccable detail, and combat scenes make the viewer hold his breath with delight. Unsurprisingly, the film won an MTV award for best fight – each action moment is so masterfully shot that it deserves the highest praise.
The musical accompaniment of Pinar Toprak keeps pace with the dynamics of the film, emphasizing key points and adding emotional depth. And the scene for the song “Just a Girl” has become one of the most memorable and energetic moments in cinema in recent years.
“Captain Marvel is not just a movie, it’s a powerful statement about the power of women and the importance of identity.” It is a film that inspires and motivates, reminding us that each of us can be faster, taller and stronger. The billion-dollar collections in the world speak for themselves – a cinematic triumph that deserves the highest praise and admiration of the audience.
Even when this film was announced and all of us were faced with the fact: “the strongest and most beautiful will play this schmo” – right then it became clear to me that there was trouble. Because there is such a thing as a mistress. There's, you know, some reason the Terminator can't be played by Danny DeVito. But Marvel never heard of that. With her huge square head, squat body, and short legs, she could play Thanos or the Dwarf Eitri, but Captainsha could not. And it's not even about sexuality, it's just that in comics Carol Danvers looks like a cross between a goddess and a circus girl, she's beautiful there. Putting Bree in that role meant turning the project into a joke. And that’s not to mention what kind of person she is, how she treated fans and journalists, kicked them out on the basis of gender and chanted to the point that in her own sequel she became just one of them. The failure of the first part didn’t happen just because Marvel as a whole was at its peak, inserted this film between two phenomenal ending films and overhyped it with promises that they weren’t going to keep. If anyone does not know or forget, then here are the rumors and promises that were circulating in the media sphere before the release: Carol will be the salvation of the Avengers from Thanos, we will be shown with all the savor of the nostalgic 90s, it will generally be a film from the 90s, maybe even with a film effect, it will be like the original of Ronan the Prosecutor, there will be a solution to what happened to the Red Skull, the threat of the Skrulls will be revealed, the story of Fury’s eye, and the work of the Soul Stone will be shown. What? Did a lot come true? A couple of points for half a buck. Half of it turned out to be an absolute lie, some made at the level of absolute mockery of the viewer-loch, which is conducted and therefore it should be thrown, and the 90s and Ronan are made purely for the tick. But here on the cat, puking tentacles - that's a cat bitch was found to fig timing! You can say that part of the hype was launched not by Marvel, but by bloggers, but let’s remember the simple thing – hype is always controlled by those who benefit from it. They didn't make denials. It sounds ridiculous, but in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Captain Marvel was no longer needed. It could have been removed sometime in 2010, but it was hopelessly late. And the authors understood this – which is why they set the timeline in 1995 to retroactively prescribe the film somewhere at the heart of their mythology. In addition, - The Cree and Skrull canon has been changed. Instead, they gave you the fuck you know. You got dumped. - Nick Fury was made an idiot. He easily blurts out state secrets, negotiates with aliens with a child, is constantly distracted by a cat, a dead alien looks at pepper. Will Smith didn't do that as Jay, although he's officially a clown. - Losing your eyes was the worst of all possible ways. You can clearly see how the authors specifically tried to spoil expectations as much as possible. You could just as well show that he had his eye blown off the toilet. - A plot hole. The Skrulls needed a Mar Vel superlight engine. Why? They came to the earth in a day, and they had it. The galactic community lives in principle thanks to FTL ships. Peter Quill was kidnapped in the '80s. Who kidnapped? Hyperdrive pirates. - The Imb heroine simply does not have an equal opponent in strength. Its enemies are either pathetic or not enemies at all. In part, this can be justified by the fact that her main victory is a victory over the lies that were instilled in her, but good gentlemen, for such problems this is an inappropriate hero. And the actress isn't right. And setting. This movie is shit. But for the sake of truth, there are a couple of things to say as an excuse. The overall design is good, with the lysergine space is not too much, in many scenes there is a certain moderation. There was a fertile field for science fiction to go off the rails at all, but this did not happen, it was postponed just to the next part. I can't support the idea of bloggers that the film is completely feminist. Coulson is shown with dignity, the leader of the scrules is the bearer of many benefactors, he is a diplomat, a pragmatist, a loving father, among the good and bad were men and women, the main opponent had a female face. I didn’t see the message in the film that men are goats and women rule. I also disagree with the view that Carol didn't deserve her powers. Actually, she got them for a sacrifice, for a strong act. Therefore, this item is in order. But these reservations are certainly not enough. They just raise my grade from 1 to 2. In general, this film is just a throw.
After watching it, I don’t feel like I’ve seen something that isn’t really anything. Here we seem to be told a story about a superhero woman who, of course, will go through all the circles of hell in the style of “you have no courage” to prove everything to everyone. They even show us how the Skrulls fight. Here are the special effects of very good quality. And humor, though not as good as other Marvel pieces, is also present. But all of that is missing. And seeing the scene after the credits, you catch yourself thinking that in front of you just a “glue” for other paintings. And, in principle, there is no need to reveal the character of Marvel. Nobody cares about him. It is necessary to "glue" other more important from the point of view of the whole universe works of the studio.
In my opinion, the film is passing and few people remember it. A sequel is not far off, though. Whether the creators of the film still fall in love with the audience in this superhero is a difficult question. In this tape, it hardly worked.
But, if you do not compare this picture with other works of the studio, we can say that the film, albeit passing, but still looks. No thinking, no thinking. Just a picture of space flights, explosions, shooting from laser guns and so on.
I finally got to see this movie. He postponed it for later because of his vague reputation and from part it was confirmed, but about everything in order.
Let’s start with the pictures, which no doubt exist. The main advantage of the picture is Nick Fury, as well as his cat. Seriously, I'd like to see a separate film about them and their interaction. In general, the character of Fury came out even more interesting than the heroine herself, but about this a little later. Another positive aspect of the film is humor. It mostly also comes from Fury, or from locals, but it's enough in the picture. I also enjoyed the music, which I didn’t expect. And if you take the overall picture, the work seemed to me quite easy and it was easy to watch.
Cons and cons. The main flaw of the tape, unfortunately, is the main character. Her character, although it has its own story, but she does not catch the viewer. The actress herself almost the entire film walks with a stone face. The problem is that it is positioned as the most powerful character, but due to the lack of sane rivals, it can not manifest itself completely. The second disadvantage, as I said, is the weak main villain. I don't see any big threat from him and he's a standard enough villain for a superhero movie without any zest. Even for Marvel, I have some questions. It looks too childish and secondary. As if just combined the scenes and Thorr and Star Wars and turned out something in between, you can not say that it is bad, but it does not cause much impression.
Conclusion. In my opinion, this is one of the weakest Marvel films. Let it still have humor and it looks relatively easy, but the main characters of the picture, as well as the action scene do not hurt the viewer. I recommend watching only if there is absolutely nothing to do, or perhaps with children, they may well like this film.
6 out of 10
The weakest Marvel film, which does not contribute to the development of the cinematic universe, absolutely nothing.
Plot.
It tells the story of a very strong, incredibly brave, 100% independent, brutal like Alexander Nevsky, a woman with superpowers in performance & #39; inimitable' feminist activist, actress and just beautiful, Brie Larson. The character of Captain Marvel turned out to be a boring clichéd analogue of Superman, who can neither be killed nor maimed nor frightened, so there is no desire to empathize with him. The story of the origin of the hero and the emergence of over abilities is also, to put it mildly, not shining with interesting events or intrigue - why stretch a meter for 2 hours is unclear.
Acting.
I want to celebrate Samuel L. Jackson - perhaps his character is the only one who is interested in watching and who really somehow empathizes. In the tape, he plays off, not yet experienced, the commander-in-chief of the organization 'SHIELD', Nick Fury. Ben Mendelsohn, Jude Law and Jimon Honsu will laugh well.
Regarding the performance of Brie Larson, the question arose: ' how did she even manage to win an Oscar?' For the whole film, there were no expressions of fear, anger, or fear on her face, nothing at all that the actress decided to walk on a relaxed Saturday morning on the set in a strange costume accompanied by a team of cameramen (in the best traditions of the Black Rose or the Disassembly in Manila).
Operating work
Like all the graphics and design, it is done at a high level. The picture is bright and pleasant. The scenes of space and beyond the abilities of Captain Marvel are spectacular. I don’t think there was any money left.
Music.
Nothing remarkable or memorable.
Total.
Boring, empty, loudly replicated, product in bright packaging. The film will appeal to representatives of modern trends, and probably fans of the comic prototype character of the main character.
I found the film original, fresh and interesting, although some moments in the film could be revealed better (for this reason, I am very much looking forward to continuing).
Positives:
1) The beautiful and bright picture in the film is a stunning combination of the style of the 90s and Cosmoopera, and it is interesting in itself and both. Many references to the classics of American cinema.
2) This is a light film that is not overloaded with excessive drama, and easy in a good way.
(3) A whole world is introduced with other civilizations, although this is partly the case in the Guardians - there is first no such connection with the Earth, and secondly there is an emphasis on the Guardians themselves, and not on the civilizations with which their path is intertwined.
(4) The character of Captain Marvel is very interesting. She doesn’t have the same heavy-handedness and drama as many other characters (or almost all female characters), she can joke, laugh, be a friend, and be a soldier and a superhero. Which is logical - she was a soldier, then she was made a soldier of the Kree, still regained consciousness. She does not have a dramatic backstory with years of suffering like Black Widow, so wait 'drama' her character is not worth it. Again, this is a very fresh look at the superhero girl that Marvel lacked (for example, this is all perfectly handled by Wonder Woman).
Negative:
1) I lacked the history of the Kree themselves and their conflict with the Skrulls.
2) it is difficult to distinguish it as something specific but in general the impression that something is missing - there may be immersion, sound (although there are many good soundtracks) - when everything seems to be there but wow there is no memorable effect. Perhaps some of the superhero films leave such an impression.
Sometimes it seems that minor characters pull over the blanket.
Well, just moments that are already a little beyond the boundaries of the film but affect it (I think).
1) A solo film would be better entered after the character has been shown in the Avengers or other films.
2) In the next movie where Marvel appeared, she has very little screen time, which does not allow the character to open up.
I give an assessment taking into account my genre (this does not mean that any genre is worse or better, just everywhere there are its own characteristics).
The plot of Marvel films we are usually not pampered, and this film was no exception, some interesting storylines and twists and turns are difficult to see. But what distinguishes this film is some overwhelming amount of computer graphics, it gets into the eye from everywhere, now not only from the action scenes, but also constantly during the film. The cat has been replaced by 'graphony'. And it really cuts your eyes, the feeling that you're watching just a set of screensavers from a computer game, and the plot, some average game. That’s not what you want to see in a $150 million movie. That is, it is difficult to find advantages in the film, everything else is average. The actors, average, no big failures, no good finds, plot as well, atmosphere as well. Possible plot tricks built on the ability to mimic the characters are absent. Almost all their transformations are out of place and give nothing. And within the Marvel universe, the main character looks generally disgusting, since she is stronger on her head than all the other characters combined, judging by this film.

This is the case when the movie was much better than the trailer. Honestly, after watching the latter, I was sure the film was doomed. First of all, concerns were caused by Brie Larson, who in the trailer was shown absolutely “nothing” – emotionless, gray and generally unsuitable for the role of the one who actually has to save the universe. Fortunately, I was wrong.
The film is a kind of backstory of "The Avengers" - it tells about the organization of S.H.I.E.L.D., about how young Fury lost his eye (I never fully understood this scene), about the idea of creating a team of superheroes. I don’t really follow the chronology of events in this movie universe, but the action takes place, as I understand it, in 1995.
The plot tells about the war of the Skrull race (metamorphs who can take the guise of any creatures they have seen) and the Kree (valiant warriors). Once again, the battlefield is unfolding on Earth, which is not surprising – there are no other places in the universe. In this confrontation is drawn Vers, the representative of the Cree, desperately trying to remember his past.
Actually, the story made me happy. There are so many unexpected twists and turns throughout the film that it will definitely not be boring. It is cool that in the superhero film among the scenes of fights there was a place to reveal the theme of family and friendship. A little humor, but it is very appropriate. And I really liked that the film is not saturated with special effects (it is already pretty tired).
The actors did great. Honestly, after watching, I don’t imagine anyone from the female half as Captain Marvel except Brie Larson. She managed to show changes in the main character – from emotionless and cold, she became strong and confident. Jude Law played 100%, although his character was not given much screen time. The final scene was especially fun. Samuel Jackson is always on top, Fury is his best role. A separate laudatory ode to makeup artists - 70-year-old Jackson managed to make up so well that he was younger by 30 years! Well, as Fury snubbed with the cat Goosey - at least for this it is worth watching a movie!
There are many questions and complaints about the film. I did not quite understand the Supreme Mind, Mar-Vell as a character was also not revealed. It is not shown how Carol took the name Captain Marvel. This may have been revealed in the comics, but I haven’t read them. The battle scenes are a bit pathetic and played, and the main character is too invulnerable and invincible. And then... maybe I thought, but the question was sparked by Carol's relationship with her masculine best friend. Tomb glances, long embraces... is there a hint of LGBT? The fact that the film is full of feminism is understandable. But can there be a non-traditional Captain Marvel?
Before watching the trailer, it can push you away from the film and show too much.

Being raised by the Kree alien race, Carol Danvers embarks on an important mission, during which she is captured by representatives of the Skrula race. After a spectacular release, Danvers finds herself on planet Earth, where she must begin an investigation into what the Srulls are chasing and why she is a participant in these events.
The first full-length superwoman comic turns out to be a transitional film to pass the time between the parts of The Avengers'. A rare option when minor characters perform much more spectacularly and are remembered stronger than the main character, whose name the film is named. This skew is due to the fact that until the very last scenes we will not see the arc of the character of Carol Danvers. Before us is not a bright beauty, but a fairly down-to-earth girl, a trained Air Force pilot. The creators put so much emphasis on the female beginning that virtually all the main villains & #39, which arose on the path of development and maturation Danvers are male. His father didn’t support his endeavors, his fellow soldiers mocked Danvers, and the Kree mentor doesn’t believe in the power of character either. Perhaps only due to the fact that Carol Danvers is endowed with inhuman & #39; bazooka hands & #39; capable of throwing plasma shells with her has to be considered.
The whole film Danvers is a self-confident upstart, who with the face of a gladiator will move along the plot without even blinking a muscle. By the end, she will simply become stronger, but there will be no personal transformations. The writers decided not to delve into the internal processes of the character, so Danvers remains too far from the viewer. At the same time, the further the story develops, the more confident in his omnipotence turns out 'Captain Marvel'. That’s why small secondary characters can convey more real emotions and motives. In addition, Nick Fury is now responsible for humor, who has always represented a cold-blooded gray cardinal, and here is just a storehouse of jokes and tenderness.
The combat component remains at the height. Well-directed fights, chases, as well as everything that needs a comic book adaptation is saved. Unfortunately, if the main character was given more understandable human qualities, the story could be much better, since there are so many elements in the film that can be revealed. But apparently, the creators decided that it was enough to be just an invincible superwoman with incredible power and the plot will complete itself. Unfortunately, this is not happening.
A film that is worth watching only when you watch well SOOOVSE no longer, or ardent femen fans. . .
Everyone understands feminism, equality, political correctness, but a film in which 90% of the actors are women, and men or bandits, or in general indistinct characters, it is nothing but sexism of pure water can not be called, “and still claim to be a house with a high culture.” The story itself is essentially about nothing, the main character cardboard princess is not funny. Even when he plays with his best friend’s daughter, he does it with the appearance that the world saves. The ending of the film made me cry like the rabbit in the joke that instead of a carrot, I found a brick. It is necessary to think about doing almost the whole thing and at the very end hang out like a model, but without a catwalk! And in general, if there was rage, before the flames, then there must be a fight, especially since the goal is in front of you. The enemies themselves are so wobbly, inert and essentially helpless that you just wonder how they developed to such a state at all and were not destroyed by any lizards that flew into space on powder rockets and accidentally flew to them. The only ones that are less well-registered are metamorphos (hopefully not a spoiler), and of those enemies, like those of the school hooligan SWAT soldiers. If the authors had such problems with the creation of enemies, then it was just necessary to plagiarize from ' Independence Day' there, even though spaceships and fighters were normal. They influenced the laws of gravity, the PKO stood, the shields were, and did not fly like a flock of sprats in the ocean.
In general, the film is disposable and almost cannot claim anything more. It is worth watching only if there is nothing else to watch, or like movies in which women are cooler, stronger and more determined than men. The latter for some reason are not decisive, sentimental, unlike the ladies (those are exactly made of granite, all as one).
'Captain Marvel' is quite a good one-time superhero movie for the inexperienced viewer. It has at least all the advantages of modern entertainment cinema: an abundance of humor of different calibers, a good picture and special effects, colorful action, light atmosphere and a good idea. It would seem like a standard original from Marvel, and it is, in fact, it is. Unfortunately, this was the main reason that the picture was one of the most uninteresting in the local universe. Leave in awe she can only not be a fan, or people who are not familiar with the genre of film comics.
All the qualities, aspects, and aspects of a given creation are either made at too ordinary a level or below average. Take, at least, the main character. She seems to have some kind of drama about memory loss. We know about her and we know who she is. However, the trouble is that we are only told , and not show. Carol Danvers' past is revealed only through photos and stories from other characters. Apart from the role in the story, we don’t know anything about it. There are only hints of her relationship with her family and interests. It’s hard to get into a character if you know too little about it.
Separately, it is worthwhile to dwell on its strength. This is one of the most powerful characters in the universe. So maybe we will be shown an epic battle with hordes of enemies, or with a creature equal to her? Unfortunately, no. Carol Danvers fights opponents who, if desired, could be laid with one finger. By the way, the action here turned out to be boring and uninteresting. Banal piu-piu, throwing away, blows from behind, throwing objects ... in general, too ordinary. In some places, there were problems with staging, when you see that the actors fall on purpose, or when the space is too darkened to not see the low force of the blows.
The film doesn’t need to go into more detail about the new races in the universe. If Skrullov somehow managed to reveal, then almost nothing is told about the Kree race. They're fighting the Skrulls and that's it. How does their life work? Who is the Supreme Mind? How did they get there? There are many other questions that we will not be able to answer.
In addition, the movie is frankly hulking in terms of script. The main character falls on the ship that is above the Earth. Then it turns out to be exactly the place where S.H.I.E.L.D. will find her. She will come to exactly the person who is needed for the plot ... in general, understandable. You could have turned a blind eye to this without any more serious assumptions. Especially stands out the moment the heroine acquires his abilities. She should have died after such an incident. However, something happens to her that is advantageous in the script. It's hard to describe without spoilers - you have to see it.
Another strong drawback is that the picture has a bad effect on the Marvel Cinematic Universe itself, leaving plot holes and questions to previous films. If you can somehow come to terms with the fact that Nick Fury was once a hilarious prankster, then the moment because of which he lost an eye looks ridiculous and even somehow mocking, given the established image of Fury. These aspects once again emphasize that this film was not originally included in the plans of the studio. It was created to warm up interest in the fourth part of the Avengers' explain the scene after the credits ' Infinity War' as well as increase the audience of the studio tapes due to the first female solo film.
This creation has only one absolutely powerful and interesting find - an idea that is fed through the plot. Again, it’s hard to say without spoilers, but the picture clearly, clearly and clearly conveys one very important message. It consists in the fact that often the worldview of a person is extremely limited. Any creature that claims to be intelligent wants to see itself as such and is afraid to admit even the potential for error. In addition, it is well shown how it helps to manipulate such people to those who benefit from it. The confrontation between the Skrull and Kree race clearly demonstrates the truthfulness of this idea.
With that said, I will repeat myself. This is a good superhero movie that you can enjoy. His problem is that it is too standard, with no sharp angles compared to the rest of the MCU paintings. If it were a little more creative, the heroine a little more interesting, and the narrative is more thoughtful, then it would not be one of the weakest moments of the local universe.
Captain Marvel in Marvel comics was one of the most powerful and courageous heroines. In her abilities, she resembled Superman from the DC squad, she was almost unstoppable, but thanks to a fascinating story invented by skillful authors, Captain Marvel became an interesting and promising girl who got her comic book series and became incredibly popular. When the blockbuster of the same name was released, it was doomed to success, but with it, in contrast to the comics, everything did not go so smoothly.
The film tells us about a girl named Vers, who has lost her memory and entered the service of the Space Order Corps, who are fighting against a race of aliens who can change their appearance. As a result of another sortie against the enemy, Vers accidentally falls along with the enemies to Earth and here begins her first great adventures.
Joining forces with Nick Fury, the future director of the secret organization S.H.I.E.L.D., Vers must find those she fought and stop them before they do more trouble. But first, our heroine should return her memories and finally understand who she is and why she should not trust everyone who meets her on the way.
The saddest thing about this film is that the main character turned out to be monotonous and uninteresting. She practically does not develop in the course of the plot and cannot boast of any serious transformations of her character. How cool she was, she still is. In the comics, Captain Marvel went from a simple girl to an invincible heroine, lost loved ones and worried about her actions. In the movie, she's cool and you can't do anything about it.
Brie Larson is a very good actress, but she doesn’t have to play anything significant in this movie. She just hit a big studio blockbuster and does what she gets. I will not blame her, after all, a lot depends on the script and direction.
The one who is always happy is Samuel L. Jackson. He still looks very good, albeit with a touch of graphics, but played Nick Fury just great. With such irony and enthusiasm. No one expected this from a brave future director.
I consider Captain Marvel to be a passing blockbuster that can only be watched to know a little more about what will happen in The Avengers. And so the film turned out to be passable and not the most interesting.
- Can you fly one? - We'll see. - Yes or no. Simple question.'
It is not clear to conclude that the ninth film of the third phase (and in general - the twenty-first) & #39; Captain Marvel' in a large-scale cinema universe based on superhero comics, was especially expected. We can pay tribute to the creative group of developers of the cinematic universe, which understood that the infusion of fresh blood is extremely necessary, especially since after the events of the saga & #39; Avengers & #39; some of the already remembered and beloved superheroes left the limits of the cinematic universe (of course, if there are no separate prequel films about them). But on the other hand, the recognition and success of the comics about Captain Marvel could not compete with the same, for example, Captain America, Iron Man or Spider-Man.
And yet the already marked phenomenal excitement, built around any adaptations of comics from the company 'Marvel Studios', allowed you to prepare in advance for full theater halls, which in turn carried good commercial fees. But only under the condition of a successful coincidence 'Captain Marvel' could storm the box office peaks taken by predecessors from the cinematic universe (for example, the seventh film of the third phase ' Avengers: Infinity War' collected a fabulous two billion dollars!). But in favor of 'Captain Marvel' the fact that between his official release and the previous film of the cinematic universe ' Ant-Man and the Wasp' nine months passed and the viewer, who has already become imbued with exceptional entertainment from 'Marvel Studios', of course missed the new action.
Who are we talking about in this picture? Immediately we can say that the studio is quite consistent with modern social trends and the policy of equality is not that protruding in their films, but even especially zealous advocates of rights and freedoms have nothing to complain about. So in the regiment of female characters in the movie universe arrived. And from the beginning of the picture, we learn that the main character is part of an elite unit called "Star Power" & #39; and also that her race has long been at war with another race - Skrulls, also called metamorphos for exceptional abilities to change appearance. On a new dangerous mission, the group, including the main character, is ambushed. After that, Vers, as everyone calls her, finds herself in a maelstrom of events, where, among other things, she will have to solve the mystery of her past and influence the outcome of the confrontation between her race and the Skrulls.
The image of Vers, aka Captain Marvel, was provided by Brie Larson, who in 2015 won the jury of the most prestigious competitions (including 'Oscar'), receiving prizes for ' Best Actress' Thanks to dramatic play in the film 'Room' Admittedly, many fans of the cinematic universe this choice caused a mixed reaction, as Larson, despite the possession of the coveted statuette ' Oscar' was not such an authoritative actress, and could Larson’s acting opportunities be revealed in the comic book? Unfortunately, expectations that were not good were fulfilled. Brie Larson was not yet ready for the large-scale mainstream and the quality of the game did not get to the level of, say, Evangeline Lilly from ' Ant-Man', not to mention the beloved Scarlett Johansson in the image of Black Widow. The heroine Larson was almost devoid of emotionality, in scenes with fights and shootouts did not set the tone, and it was not noticeable that she is a pronounced superheroine with powerful abilities. Only occasionally something comedic was traced, but still Bree left at the moment confident that she is an actress of a dramatic channel and the superhero costume is not yet sewn for her size.
But out of the shadow of an important character, but still auxiliary plan came Samuel L. Jackson. His special agent, project manager 'The Avengers' Nick Fury was, is and will be an integral part of the cinematic universe; and his image of the collected every moment, ready to take any, even the most crushing blow, or to make at the critical moment the only right decision will forever remain in the memory of all viewers who faced the cinematic universe. And his black eye patch only adds personality and bulge to Nick Fury. In 'Captain Marvel' the character of Samuel L. Jackson is a direct participant in the action. He just showed himself in all its glory, while finding how to diversify and decorate the character. And his deep sympathy for cats is not only cute, but also gives a certain aplomb to the picture. And this is one of the best that is in 'Captain Marvel' as, in fact, the cat itself.
And, based on all the above, the verdict 'Captain Marvel' turns out to be ambiguous. The film has new personalities, new heroes and villains, played by well-known and status performers, but not all fascinated the huge fan army of the cinema universe, for which, of course, minus 'Captain...'. The plot is also not particularly happy, because when the main intrigue in the conflict of the Kree and Skrull races is revealed, you understand that this plot is already thoroughly worn, but to be original is the credo for the production of the tapes ' Marvel Studios'. And like the scale is in 'Captain...', but in comparison with other paintings it is somewhat prosaic. And in the dry residue it turns out that the action of a good caliber, but not outstanding, and among the actors stands out first of all the animal, and after him the actor of the secondary plan, and not the main character. So, weighing all the pros and cons, it turns out that 'Captain Marvel' gets:
Already gone 2019 was an unprecedented success for Marvel in the form of the highest grossing film in the history of "Avengers: Endgame". But, even before that, a solo novel about a new character of the universe – Captain Marvel – was released in March, which we announced in the post-credits scene “Avengers: Infinity War”. I’m not a fan of the Marvel universe, but I’ve been looking forward to this movie with enthusiasm, because after Thanos showed his strength and power, I really wanted to see a character that was so strong that it would stand up to the titan. But the movie was actually boring.
The main characteristic of the film, it is not interesting. Here it begins with a scene in a space city, as space warriors with the participation of the main character fight against a hostile civilization-metamorphs. They tell us why they are fighting, they show us spectacular space scenery. I'll stare and think, "What's so boring?" Why is it all not interesting and exciting, even though it was only 7 minutes from the film? Can the movie play out? No, he's totally boring! Nothing in-the-res-no. Except that the sudden “that’s the turn” (to admit, I did not expect, really turn) and the first scene after the credits is the only thing that at least somehow interested. The film isn’t bad, it’s just not interesting.
Why, for example, "Guardians of the Galaxy", which were also about the main characters from another world, were super exciting, but "Captain" was not? I think the main reason is the main character. She is too perfect and has no weaknesses. In Guardians of the Galaxy, the four main characters were interesting, each with its own problems and distinctive features, plus each is charismatic (that’s not counting the cool soundtrack and production). And Carol Danvers... she doesn't have a problem at all.
Everything is easy for her, even when she is faced with problems: like she was captured by the Skrulls, she escapes without problems; she gets to an unfamiliar planet Earth, she has no problems with adaptation; she is attacked by the Skrulls, she gets rid of them without problems. But the funniest part is the ending. That seems like a problem to me. Carroll has no problems with superpowers (like Thor); no spiritual suffering (like Tony Stark); no love (like Wanda and Vision); no overcoming herself (like Spider-Man); she is not an outcast of society (as guardians of the galaxy); even problems with trust and the dilemma of “who is a friend and who is an enemy?” there is not much here, although it is on this dilemma that the plot twist is based, which should seriously affect the heroine. Wonder Woman was interesting because she had problems adapting and trusting; even Superman, who is often called “too perfect,” has a weakness in the face of Kryptonite, and in the DS universe he can be fooled by Lex Luther. Captain Marvel has no problem at all.
Conclusion: As a non-Marvel fan, I admit that their universe is a good example of quality films made for a specific audience, some of which, like Guardians of the Galaxy and Avengers: Infinity War, are absolutely excellent. But even with that in mind, I think Marvel has a number of weak movies: Black Panther, First Avenger, Thor and Thor 2 (still considered his worst Marvel movie). And here in this series I will include "Captain Marvel" because it is like the above films, not that bad, he's just ... nothing. He is boring, not interesting, with an uninteresting and boring heroine. And the funny thing is that in “Avengers: Endgame” this character was also merged in full.

In "Captain Marvel" there are male characters of four kinds - a clown, a villain, a girl in distress and extras. All of them are equally ridiculous, and against their background, the bright face of the actual titular heroine is clearly visible.
Seriously, the filmmakers were lazy or initially useless. You can't just put a figure at the center of the story and tell the audience -- here she is, our most beautiful, smartest, most beautiful and chic Captain Marvel, and she has a dark secret in her past, and she can use her left to tell anyone, love her. It doesn't work that way. The hero must be built on bricks, it must be prescribed and revealed. And of course it has to be played. But it looks like no one bothered to shoot. The writers invented worthless secondary characters, so that against their background a strong and independent captain looked more profitable. Brie Larson, looking at them, gave up on acting. The result is sad – in the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe you can not find such a superhero. Yes, Black Panther has faded, but he is at least a little alive ("Confrontation" is an example). And Carol Danvers is a natural empty space. It does not move forward or backward, does not develop or degrade. She has neither conviction nor character. There are no flaws and no merits. No sense of humor. There is nothing but fashionable clothes and hair that do not obey the laws of gravity. Oh yes, and also meaningless omnipotence, which she did not deserve.
The film itself is equally empty. It seems that some events happen in him and sometimes it is even interesting to watch them, but he does not fall into the soul. You don’t want to think about it after watching it or, God forbid, review it. He even as a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is superfluous, because he does not make any significant contribution to the overall history. It is a mystery to me how he managed to raise such money. Thanks to the cat and Samuel L. Jackson?

I think it’s no secret that I’m a fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Every time I go to the movies, I’m confident that a new movie will give me two hours of real excitement and joy. For me, Marvel films released under the production supervision of Kevin Feige are already a guarantee of quality. However, this time there were doubts due to the very restrained reaction of critics to Captain Marvel. But it is good that these doubts were in vain.
Perhaps for someone, this will be another conveyor film about the formation of the next superhero, but fans of the cinematic universe do not need to worry, because all we love Marvel movies on the spot are favorite heroes, insidious villains, corporate humor, easy dialogue, excellent special effects.
The plot is the original of Captain Marvel (aka Carol Danvers), who has yet to play a key role in the final part of “The Avengers”. In the same film, Carol will have to remember her past, understand the conflict between two races - Cree and Skrulls and stop the genocide.
I really like the atmosphere of space movies. “Captain Marvel” is probably the coolest. A lot of starships, spaceships, the presence of alien races. Often there were associations with both Star Wars and Star Trek. Many say that this film perfectly conveys the atmosphere of the 90s. I didn't see that at all. Turn on Nirvan once, put the main character in a NIN T-shirt, show the arcade machine and joke once (albeit very funny) about old computers - this is not the atmosphere.
Bree Larson as Captain Marvel is beautiful. Perfectly conveyed the brave, brave, a little stubborn and flawless character of the heroine.
I was very pleased with the second plan of the actors. First of all, this is Sam Jackson. He was just incredibly rejuvenated for the role of Fury. It is in this film that we learn where the harsh warrior lost his eye. Jackson has incredible charisma, it was a pleasure to see him in this role. The second is Jude Law (Jon-Rogg). He's a real talent. Even such a boring and gray character enriched his charm. The third is Annette Benning (Dr. Wendy Lawson). I don’t see her in movies very often, but when she does, I don’t understand why she has so few roles, she’s a beautiful actress. And the fourth, for dessert, is Ben Mendelsohn (Talos). Very interesting actor, I always try to watch movies with his participation. Here most of the time it is hidden under makeup, but even under it is very strong acting.
The technical part at a high level. Great visuals and makeup, cool costume design. I think that it was possible to put the fight scenes more interesting, they looked too confused, sometimes just an incomprehensible shining.
For Soundtrack was responsible someone Pinar Torpak. This is her first high-profile film. I did not remember any specific musical theme, but when watching the film, the music was organically combined with the image. Just for the atmosphere of the 90s, the film also played hits of that time, very even to the point.
"Captain Marvel" is a new film of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which introduces us a new character. The film did not turn out to be a feminist statement, it will not claim the nomination for best film at the next Oscar, but is it so necessary? Excellent audience entertainment film, with atmospheric space themes, with action and humor.
In recent years, Marvel movies have not gone without a buzz. And this is not about the fact that people are excitedly waiting for the next picture and happily rush to throw money in theaters (although this, of course, happens), but about the fact that each film is accompanied by some reason to stink in the Internet. That arrogant snob-intellectuals spoil the air, hunching, what "Infinity War" overrated empty, then around "The Panther of the African American" there will be a storm of debate about whether this film is worth an Oscar just because all the main characters in it - what... black? It's time for the charming and Captain Marvel to shine - the sofa troops are calling for a boycott of the film because of Brie Larson's feminist remarks taken out of context. Yes, in a society of pathological resentment, just give the people a reason. What about the movie? About the picture against the background of all this information background, few people remember. No way. We have a good movie here.
There is a belief that all the originals (the first paintings that tell about the formation of the hero) of Marvel are the reincarnations of Iron Man in 2008. First of all, no, not everyone, remember the Guardians of the Galaxy. Second, breathe out, Captain Marvel tried to bring the necessary amount of originality to the formula, so as not to be perceived as "just another solo plug in front of the Avengers."
The main aspect of the fresh picture, for which she wants to praise against the background of competitors – non-linear narrative, where the viewer comprehends the plot together with the main character. At the time of joining, we meet Vers (Bree Larson) with absolutely no memory for 6 years. She is a member of the Kree Combat Squad, which is successfully engaged in war with the Skrull race, which annoys the entire galaxy. And for some reason, she has bazooka hands and obsessive flashbacks about incidents she does not remember. Skillful shuffling of these flashbacks with scenes in the present and with scenes in the past allows the viewer to feel the same way as the heroine trying to understand everything feels in this mess.
In this case, she will help a number of rather colorful characters. Separately, I want to highlight Ben Mendelsohn, who performs a rather atypical role for himself, and Samuel “Mazafakasya America” El Jackson, who here is the soul of the company and charmer. Jude Law is good, of course, but his character isn’t as well revealed, even though he owns one of the most juicy jokes of the entire film. Whoop-pa, Lee Pace ...
The story itself, of course, is not shining with revelations, but it contains at least a couple of really unexpected twists of the level of “Woteporot” and a number of impressive battle scenes. With its primary task - to entertain the viewer, the tape copes perfectly.
And I want, contrary to the conventional rhetoric, to praise the lead actress Brie Larson. Her behavior on the screen stuck in my soul. A strong, humorous friend with a charming smile that will brighten up the film more than one scene. Watching her act made me believe in her character and her story. Well done, in general.
We ended up with a great Marvel solo, which is definitely a few goals above last year’s Panthers. He is not ashamed to go to the movies, and then review the house for gulls and plough on a cold winter evening. And, of course, one of the scenes after the credits will warm you up before the imminent arrival of the mastodon in the face of Avengers: Endgame.
You all know Captain Marvel is just the story of Pager Fury, right?

'Captain Marvel' - a movie created on the newfangled wave of cults and the desire to please everyone. In this case it was a desire to please 'strong and independent'. Don’t get me wrong: I don’t mind strong female characters in movies, and there are many, not only in movies, but in real life, who I want to take an example from. The problem is different.
I believe that films do not have to specially adjust to certain limits and please everything, because there will always be both supporters and opponents.
And when the film comes to the fore the task ' please', no originality to expect from him is no longer worth it.
And the problem 'Captains' is exactly that. The film was shot by women for women, and came out too sterile: he is so afraid to stumble or show the weaknesses of the heroine (suddenly they will judge), so eager to be on the wave of modern trends that it turned out a kind of movie without a face & #39; Strong semantic load of the film does not carry. The character did not fit into the universe, and she did not even find a leading role in ' Endgame' (which says a lot). That I watched it, that I didn't - on the overall perception of films 'Marvel' it didn't affect at all.
The heroine is also a faceless collective image, on which everyone should be equal. But this character has no zest at all. I didn't see anything in her that I wanted to look up to. Many scold the heroine (and at the same time Larson herself) for being too arrogant, but I must say that in the film it suits her. It's a stretch, though. I didn’t see the main thing in this character: development and growth. Her abilities were, in fact, accidental. I didn't get rid of arrogance. It’s easy ' because'
As a result, the film did not give me any emotions. I didn’t worry about the characters, I didn’t laugh at jokes, I wasn’t surprised by the plot twists. This is just an ordinary, smooth, pleasing movie, which neither could please nor upset.
A typical average passerby with bright special effects, no more.
Coming out on the big screen, the movie caused a lot of diverse responses. Someone was delighted, someone spit. I'm closer to the first category because I liked the movie. I didn’t feel much delight and admiration, but I was curious, I had a great rest and a little laugh.
The film takes us back to the past, from it we learn not only about the new heroine - Captain Marvel, but also about the past of special agent Fury, who gathered under his wing all the superheroes to protect the universe.
Real entertaining, exciting, bright, colorful fiction in the best traditions of Hollywood! There is no politics, no propaganda of tolerance, etc. Instead, there is a lot of humor, action and... Cat! This cat is in urgent need of a film! The film with humor, especially it comes a lot from Fury, and the main character Kerol Danvers (Vers and she is Captain Marvel) is funny.
I highly appreciate the film for the fact that its creators skillfully combined a space action movie with a thriller, added psychology, seasoned with feminism, strengthened the spirit of the 90s of the last century (one pager awakened so many memories!) and presented us with a bright, powerful, beautiful, harmonious, spectacular, fascinating fantastic film dish. I really enjoyed what I saw. And let them say that all Marvel movies are built the same and similar in plots. So what?! If they’re successful, if they’re exciting, if they’re exciting and surprising, then Marvel is doing the right thing. As they say, good is not sought.
I won’t say that the film is imprinted in memory for a long time, but I have long divided films into types such as: for recreation, which relax the brain, and for reflection, which make the brain work even harder. For me, Marvel movies are movies for recreation. Colorful and interesting. Of course, if you think about it, all these films still show the struggle between good and evil and all that, but this is taken for granted and does not cause any response in the mind.
From the cast, I note the magnificent Samuel L. Jackson. He’s 70 years old and he looks like a cucumber. Look, figure, gait, movement - he's just a super dude! Bree Larson, who played the main role of Carol Danvers, is good, although not shining. A little annoying in the middle of the movie, but overall not bad. But the best of all is still a cute kitten, a cat Goose! That’s exactly who the main star of the movie is.
I have no complaints about the quality of the graphic component of the film, seen as usual pleases the eye. Good humor, as I wrote earlier. I love the humor in Marvel movies, it’s so light, unobtrusive and funny, it doesn’t feel like anyone else has been making jokes.
The result is a bright, spectacular and very emotional film of the Marvel line. Yes, it sounds like a fairy tale, but basically every superhero movie is a fairy tale, right? These films are considered naive. But just for fun, that's it. Two hours of timekeeping passes unnoticed, conversations like not to say that much, but they are. It's really not enough, we could do more fights. I recommend it to everyone, not just comic book fans. The good thing about this film is that it can be safely watched separately from the general Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The phases are spinning - the money is muddled: Marvel successfully complete another victorious epic and as an aperitif before the final dinner introduce another hero into interplanetary operation. And it seems that even before the film was released on the big screen, the scandalous reputation of Brie Larson and her ultra-liberal position provided the film with wide publicity: as they say, black PR is also PR. Tired of the oppression of white masculists, the actress literally secured the status of a compassionate manifesto in support of gender equality, bringing Disney one step closer to the status of the most tolerant conglomerate in the whole white world. Although the studio is already on the progressive agenda, judging by at least its game remakes of cartoons, and naive to believe that this has something to do with the liberal beliefs of the studio bosses. Everything is a little more prosaic: gays, feminists, eco-activists, representatives of national minorities - all of them also watch movies and are only indicators of numbers and Disney has always been able to keep their nose in the wind in the direction much more actively blows the wind of state propaganda, which dictates the mood of the masses. And, thus, the audience gets the first solo film about the superhero Marvel from the directors ' Paul-Nelson' and a whole team of writers responsible for the new ' Laura Croft', ' Guardians of the Galaxy' and the cartoon ' Puzzle'.
The plot tells the story of military pilot Carol Danvers, who gained super strength in a collision with an alien enemy. After many years, the heroine will have to face her past again to save the world in the future.
Whatever anti-PR and the collapse of the ratings of the picture did not provide St. Twitter Brie Larson, the Marvel film remains a Marvel film: the viewer will get everything that is loved and expected from colorful pictures to corporate humor. A light, carefree and witty blockbuster is definitely a Marvel theme. Largely in 'Captain Marvel' you can see the atmosphere and artistic techniques 'Guardians' and 'Star Wars' and even some similarity with 'Men in Black'. Among other things, the picture perfectly presses on the feeling of nostalgia for the nineties (because not what we had), seasoning the setting with songs No Doubt, Garbage, Hole and Nirvana. However, all this for some reason does not work quite as before: everything is possible in 'Captain Marvel' has already been shown by the studio for ten years repeatedly, and the eternal and beloved tracks for decades sound just out of place, not to mention various kinds of micro-references to the same 'Terminator'. The new picture of the studio turned out to be rather a collective puzzle filled to the brim with all the well-known elements of modern pop culture and, alas, it is as devoid of individuality as the image of the heroine Brie Larson is devoid of any character. All that remains for the viewer is to enjoy the attraction, arranged by bright secondary characters, holding on the weight of the five-ton conceit Boevuman in a bright costume, facial expressions of the android and the emotional spectrum of the pancake. However, we are talking about Marvel and we can hope to work on errors in the further exploitation of this character. After all, such mistakes do not happen often and are unlikely to overshadow an almost flawless ten-year reputation.
Pros: Staging, plot, humor, cast, special effects.
Cons: secondary and cliche primarily commercial product, not impressive game Brie Larson.
Earlier in the superhero blockbusters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the main characters acquired their superpowers through sacrifice, deprivation and pain, or through will and intelligence. Now the creators of the new Marvel films considered it superfluous. The heroine of the film acquires her superpowers enough to be at the right time in the right place.
The solo film about Captain Marvel turned out to be quite mediocre, his story is primitive and banal, having no ounce of originality. To compensate for this, and without causing boredom to the viewer, the directors did not even try to give their creation a sufficient number of tricks and moods, so the film turned out to be a trivial, and perhaps the most uninteresting film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Captain Marvel is another typical feminist in modern Hollywood movies who challenges the objectification of men. It is also worth noting that the filmmakers endowed the heroine with a plight the depth of her personality. It is not surprising that while watching the film, the viewer will not be able to observe in it the image of the uniqueness of the character.
Now for the content of the film.
The semantic and ideological content of the film forms a negative image of the male representatives of the white Caucasian race.
Also, the film uses the substitution of concepts, denoting vicious or socially dangerous phenomena as neutral, and even finding justified ways to explain these phenomena.
For example, the aliens in the film, metaphorically associated with enemies of society and the state, who should be expelled or destroyed, the director portrays them as positive characters, and white people as true enemies and embodiments of vicious qualities. The directors themselves describe white men with undisguised disgust, depicting them as inhuman, for example, first the father of the main character, then colleagues.
In the course of the plot, the actions of green monsters are shown as forced and acquittal, which were aimed at protecting their fellow tribesmen who suffered from the act of white people. Thus, in the film there is a blurring of good and evil, good and bad, in which white people appear before the audience as murderers, despots and tyrants, and monsters are innocent inhabitants who became victims of their outrages and rampages. At the same time, the creators additionally suggest to the viewer that he was deeply mistaken, initially mistakenly perceiving aliens as dangerous and harmful to society.
However, from the misfortunes of the creators suffered not only the whiteness of the man, but also the director of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Nick Fury, who, for all his seriousness in previous films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the directors showed him a comic and frivolous character.
It is no secret that the modern system of cinematography sets the installation of promoting the ideas of tolerance in films, expressed in the promotion of feminism, perversions, etc., and it is the demonstration of such clichés that ensure that films receive the cherished statuette at the Oscar ceremony.
This is the worst superhero film I’ve ever seen, which is not only extremely primitive and banal, but also destructive, containing a number of harmful themes that were voiced above.
Although, in the interests of justice, it is worth mentioning that such destructive ideas are already common in superhero films, released in the last three years, and not only in this film.
The film is not good at all.
After Black Panther, Captain Marvel is Marvel's second significant social film because it was the first female character's solo film (the promised Widow movie is still in development), which meant a burden of responsibility. And since the studio undertook such a difficult task as to show the super-super-heroine to the world, they had to carry out a colossal work on her image: reveal the character, give motivation to actions, demonstrate the extraordinary mind and so on. But as a result, we didn’t see anything from the word “totally.” Throughout the picture, we have two characters on whom the attention is focused – Nick Fury and the red cat. It's bold to rename it Fury. Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D., and there would be no problem. Still, I tried to find positive aspects that can interest the viewer and somehow save the failed plot.
One such sluggish plus is: in the picture a huge amount of action. No scene, it's a shooting-chase-fight. In terms of camera work is filmed well, and from the visual side, everything is bad. The studio has a nasty habit of using fifth-grader-level graphics in passing films. Is it interesting to watch such actions? It looks like a movie without boredom, but the emptiness of what is happening spoils everything. There is nothing to remember at least the name of the main character.
In the end, "Captain Marvel" is a mediocre passerby, created for a tick. Instead of presenting a new hero, we were shown a depersonalized man who “is and is fine.” Is it worth wasting time on such a soulless creation? If there's nothing at all, you can.
It’s no secret that Marvel Studios still at the production stage called “Captain Marvel” a very important film for them (naturally after “Avengers: Endgame”). Not only because, right now, the studio decided to bring on the screen perhaps one of the most powerful superheroes of their lore, who is destined to lead in many future films of the studio, but also because this is the first film about a female superhero studio and for the first time Marvel was in the position of catching up. Wanting to genuinely prove that he can outperform the success of Wonder Woman from the competitive DC. Did it work? Let's figure it out.
The plot of the picture develops around the pilot of the air force Carol Danvers, who as a result of a collision with warring aliens and the subsequent plane crash becomes the owner of incredible abilities. However, having lost memory and being involved in a long-term confrontation between two alien races, it depends only on her who will emerge from this confrontation as the winner and what fate awaits all of humanity.
The creators of the picture initially faced a very difficult task. How to correctly transfer to the screen absolutely "imbo" and almost immortal and omnipotent hero so that the viewer would imbue him with compassion and interest. Caught in similar conditions to Man of Steel, Zack Snyder found a great way out of the situation in Superman’s search for his place in the world, being rejected by a child of both races. However, the creators of this tape unfortunately failed. The picture intersperses in the history of the heroine’s past and her internal conflict, but it turns out to be very superficial. Thus, affecting not only the story itself, but also the heroine.
Morality on the principle of “get up after each fall” either keeps most of the picture in the background, or completely fits in the forehead, and the inner world of the heroine did not receive proper disclosure on the screen. Actually, as the conflict of Kree and Skrulov, the nature of the origin of which remained much behind the scenes. Thus, a little dulling the impression of the main plot twist about which of them is bad and who is good in fact. However, it is worth admitting that this twist can be considered one of the best finds of the picture. Including Marvel Studios’ first neglect (in my memory) of its formula for becoming a hero. Instead, developing the heroine's origen with numerous flashbacks and memories from the past throughout the narrative.
The appointment of Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck did not improve or spoil the film. Since “Captain Marvel” turned out to be another Marvel movie shot according to its studio template (with the exception of “Guardians of the Galaxy” and “Infinity War”). Starting with visual decisions and ending with the manner of storytelling. Such an outcome is not at all surprising in this case, it is perceived quite normally. The picture turned out to be very light, energetic and dynamic. Visual effects delight the eyes. The action in the picture was exactly as much as necessary (not much, not less).
A little ambiguous impression made by Bree Larson. Throughout the film, Larson seems to play his character. Not knowing who she is or who she is playing. It is this and explaining why Larson failed to fully imbue his character on the screen and why in some places her emotions seem a little inappropriate and playful. Which is strange considering the fact that she is a good actress and this has repeatedly proved in indie films. Samuel L. Jackson performed his role perfectly, who managed to reveal the good old Nick Fury from an absolutely unexpected side. Even if he is mostly shown in the picture by an inexperienced fool, and his tale about a lost eye, which has intrigued so many years, only causes laughter.
After the magnificent Thanos, Marvel Studios again returned the original settings and “merged” their villains on the screen. Ben Mendelsohn a great actor who just wasn’t lucky with the role. Talos turned out to be a dull and pale shadow of his character from the comics and did not receive proper development on the screen, and Mendelsen has nowhere to turn around and simply nothing to play. The same impression is made by Gemma Chan and her Minn-Erva, whose conflict with Danvers is only mentioned several times in words, but is not revealed in actions and thereby merges the full potential of their confrontation from the comics. It was much better than Jude Law. And then only its powerful charisma and excellent game, which squeezed the maximum from the extremely boring in terms of the script character all the juices.

Captain Marvel is another Marvel movie, which not only did not surpass Wonder Woman from competitive DC, but in my opinion loses to many of its creations. It was much better than Black Panther. But the picture turned out to be a bit raw in terms of the approach to the “imboveness” of the character and suffered due to the unwillingness of the studio to change. Thus, presenting on the screen seemingly not a bad film, but with an already boring and sterile form of narration. Not a bit disappointing, how quickly escape from memory and heart immediately after watching.
I want to share my impressions of Captain Marvel. I love movies like this, and especially the Marvel Universe. I can’t say that I’m a true epic fan, but I know a little about superheroes.
It is always a pleasure to watch seemingly ordinary people like me or my neighbor Vasya suddenly become unusual. It is as if they wake up the second “I”, and they solve any problems with the click of a finger.
The character in Captain Marvel was originally a warrior from another planet. She copes with all the tasks that stand in her way. It seemed that this power was given to our heroine at birth, and she can only learn to use it for her own benefit.
But the plot suddenly takes us back to her past. She's an ordinary girl there. Not so strong may be physically, but strong in spirit and willpower. She gets the gift by accident. That's how the circumstances are. But with the gift comes a lot of unpleasant things. She has to face betrayal and deception of loved ones to learn the whole truth about herself.
I liked this movie because it looks like real life. Yes, we cannot fly, throw lightning, or move objects through space. But we can not give up, believe in ourselves, help others, and for this we do not need any special abilities. It's already in us. You just need to find them in yourself and pull them out.
The heroine of the film was an ordinary person. Like me or like you. She fell, but she got up. She didn't give up when they laughed at her. I did something that didn’t work out right away. When this superpower came to her, it only strengthened her inner strength.
We're wrong, but we try again. Life tips us over at some point, but we stubbornly return to the right path and continue our journey through life. We're all superheroes. I'm sure. You don’t have to be the hero of the movie. Life is much more interesting for heroism.
The meaning of the film turned out to be much more colorful and interesting than the film itself.
It's clear what the movie will be. And the bar kept growing and growing. In the dreams of the creators. Before ' Infinity War' it really kind of grew, because, well, because the infinity stones apparently acted on the viewer. Moreover, if you really expect something, it automatically justifies everything harmful to nerve cells, all these same solo books and unjustified crossovers, all the stupidity, transparency, incompleteness, falsehood, etc. But now that the barrier has been broken and the veil has fallen, you’re staring at the quality of each Marvel movie. And then all even the most carefully hidden flaws immediately come out, because there is nothing to look at at at all. After all, some stereotypes here as usual quadrillion. They don't hide them. They are now openly flaunted to the public. And why? Why create unique images, written storylines? The system works like a clock. That's the phrase I've praised movies before. But you can’t take, and 120 times in a row to sell the same scheme, well, you can’t, Marvel! Even the most loyal fans can’t pretend forever. Be afraid of DC.
The current style of each solo album hits the snout literally with the first shots. What is it about? First, it should be the most tolerant film. Given that the topic is about feminism, the set will be the most complete, this doubt disappears after the first 30 seconds. This theme in modern films twists the writers rounded objects so that no one would walk to the right or left even at gunpoint, and this is also Marvel. Especially since it's Marvel, which means even God won't take it the way he wants. And everything is so obvious that the introduction immediately rushes at superlight speed, transferring the film to rewind mode. And then suddenly freezes, and tramples in place. Then again, the acceleration mode. And so on to the credits. Jokes are naturally in place, where without them, and the most intelligible, because they must go first of all to preschool children. Let's face it. It's a style, you can't get it. Both Call of Duty sport and KVM movies are now a kind of special dolbocretinism.
At first it seemed that Brie Larson would drag the image so that everything else would not have to pay attention. In fact, Bree with his acting skills looks like a fifth wheel here, because there is nothing special to play, and who will allow you to go beyond the limits. It seems that Larson is cheating on purpose, because it is even humiliating to portray a stencil in all seriousness, but Bree still found something of a middle ground in this, not exaggerating or adding, but simply acting out the script, which was just taken out of the copier. Yvonne Strahowski might as well have been taken, nothing would have changed. But it seemed that Bree would bring something unique to the image. But it's Marvel! And if you have to keep writing it off just for that simple phrase, Houston, you've got a very big problem. Because making a faceless character out of Brie Larson, that pancake really had to work hard. And all this consumer of deliberately adapted characters to the situation is to tolerate well, there is no strength at all. Everything is so combed, so emasculated, so falsely imposed, that the concepts ' creative vision' and ' CMW' have already become terms from different galaxies.
Samuel Al Jackson. Nick Fury, ladies and gentlemen. Cat lover? Are you out of your fucking mind? One of the coolest characters in the series became a crazy cat man? Jesus, why? Did he have little charisma? Or was it necessary to show how exactly the image changed from a random jerk to a... tough guy? No, it's just that in all of these movies, everyone has to be clowns, and it's natural that Fury's in line. No solo, please don't. When viewing ' Glass' comforted the thought that here Sam will show himself in all his glory, here he is a real authoritative comic book hero, and not an unfinished shapeless slime. And it comes out... Leaked. It’s even cooler than in 'Glass '. Oh, shit. The eye story is particularly damning. The level of idiocy is simply extreme.
A set of stereotypes. Aliens with ears of Will Smith and muzzles of drunkards, a black family, this can no longer be bantered, because again there is no strength to ridicule these pesky, like chlorine in the skin, stereotypes. This one is like his. Jude Law, yes. There is. The funny scene from the trailer, where Captain Marvel beats his grandmother, does not shoot here anymore, because even the scenes from the third & #39; The Matrix' when Neo beat Pythia in the body of Agent Smith, look more gritty and funny. Here it is reminiscent of gags in the style 'Do not threaten South Central'. Shame on you.
Conclusion. Such a suck for the films of the series seems not uncommon, but this has crossed all possible boundaries. Even 'Ant and Wasp' looked more cheerful. The film literally fades from memory 5-7 seconds after the credits. It was so diligently brought to perfection, so polished that only a video sequence and a set of utterances remained from the film itself. Also striking is the obvious repainting of the film in more colorful and rainbow colors, because even the trailer seemed to give the film serious. Well, it's -- you get it. Dialogue is just the bottom pierced, there are no characters at all. Everything is so adjusted to the overall mentality of the series that it takes minutes to fall asleep after honoring Stan Lee (although something turned out touching). It's already rolled, yes. That's where it's time to stop, seriously. Please do it! Don’t make fun of the franchise anymore. You've already squeezed everything you can out of the series. Enough. Here's the spider, and the ending. That's enough.
P.S. Okay, maybe one or two more movies. And the finals.
P.S.S. Okay, three movies. And the finalist of the finals.
P.S.S.S. Okay, then a couple more movies. And the final of all finals of all finals.
Honestly, from 'Captain Marvel' I expected absolutely nothing, and with the character before the release of the film was unfamiliar from the word '. But with the film still decided to get acquainted, not so much out of great desire, as just out of habit - well, how can you miss the Marvel movie? I was not disappointed.
'Captain Marvel' in its structure it is quite a typical superhero solo, and even suffering from perhaps one of the laziest script clichés - the main character who lost his memory. However, the film turned out to be quite cheerful and dynamic, it is interesting to watch, and the tape perfectly copes with its main task - to acquaint the viewer with the heroine, who, obviously, will be one of the central characters of the next phase of the movie universe.
I have to admit that Brie Larson, although I left a rather negative impression on the screen, I still liked the image of a superheroine. She looks very organic in her role, good in action scenes, but still she lacks some zest, some inner charge, ' fire in the eyes' as Kopatych said from 'Smesharikov'. But the absence of the latter definitely does not suffer Sam Jackson, who returned to the role of Nick Fury and, as always, coped with the role brilliantly. He radiates so much charisma that it would be enough for the entire caste. Well, Jude Law and Ben Mendelsohn, also great actors, who contributed to the fire.
Very good visual part, which, however, is not surprising. The picture is spectacular, the action is great and cheerful, well, here the Marvel brand speaks for itself. Here we also attribute humor - really, by the way, not bad, besides without vulgarity and toilet jokes of the level of the second ' Guardians of the Galaxy'. It's a pretty cute cameo by Stan Lee.
To sum up, 'Captain Marvel' I definitely liked it, considering, I repeat, I didn’t expect anything from the film. This is a great superhero action, maintaining the necessary level of dynamics. I could find fault with some things, but honestly, I don't want to do that. 'Captain Marvel' is a very light and light tape that I really enjoyed. I recommend it.
