There's a lot to say. Recently, a Facebook post was published about the 100 best Asian films. I decided to watch these movies from time to time because I found some of my favorites on the list. And, since our opinion coincides on several films, why not coincide on several more.
I decided to watch from Kazakh paintings. Watched the film Sh. Aimanov “Land of the Fathers”
The impression is mixed. But one thing is clear. When I saw this movie a while ago, I wouldn’t have seen much. It seems to me that Sh. Aimanov, like many artists of that time, was squeezed within the framework of Soviet censorship and could not directly say what they wanted to say. They had to say a lot of things allegorically. Many ideas were visible during the film, but were not completed, or were stopped.
However, I understood the main idea of the film. There was one such moment in which approximately the following words are said: "What a whole and strong nature!" At the same time, you admire and you are afraid of it.” It is about the “whole nature” of this film. How important it is to show your will and your character.
As for the technical side of the picture, I have serious complaints about the operator of the picture. Although this was the 66th year, at that time they were already able to shoot several orders of magnitude better.
The music wasn’t amazing, but the dombra solo fit seamlessly into the film. I also want to mention Pomerantsev’s game. An amazing artist! Always admired him.
