Not a bad comedy, but a very bad drama. . Though I thought the opposite, I think so. . . Prince Salim would have gone and killed himself against the wall.
I think it was originally a black comedy, not a drama. Well, Kamon, like talented actors gathered (Mallica does not take into account, she was supposed to be beautiful here) - Paresh Raval, Rahul Bose, Kay Menon, Pavan Malhotra, but, damn, merged the whole plot with patriotic speeches and a parody of spies (as well as Princes Salim, Anarkali, international agents and others like them - man, I haven't eaten such a vinaigrette for a long time). Everything seemed to start well - one troupe played all sorts of plays in the theater, and then they wanted something so forbidden to put, about the criminal Don. This was heard directly by the criminal Don, who sheltered their district. I came with a gun and let's wave - put something else, I won't let you put sedition. I'll close the theater. The actors, don’t be fools, put a win-win – all the Hindus beloved “Great Mughal”. A little familiar with Indian culture knows what this legend means for the average Indian. It’s like for us the “Song of the Things Oleg”, the tales of heroes and Pushkin in one bottle. In a word, part of the story. And what this troupe put up is, well, that's pretty good. The mockery of the Mughal.
Anarkali was good. I mean, actress Shabnam (Mallica Sherawat). Glamorous kitty, which is unclear what count married a dude who is 15 years older and does not shine with talent. Oh, great, no words. Everything is waiting for her to be invited to Bollywood or a secret admirer who will make her happy and be a ray of light in her boring married life. And he doesn't have to wait long - Arjun appears. A secret intelligence agent who, in his thoughts, is engaged in serious espionage cases, but in his heart suffers from love for the Shabnas. In short, a romantic spy. Or a romantic spy.
Paresh Raval is the soul of the film. I burned him first. Let's start with the name Udai Shankar Mazumdar. We can't go any further. The very old man who is even superfluous and does not know how to play with words at all. The spectator cries from laughter during his performances. But Mazumdar himself is 100% confident in his talent. And although this is a grotesque character, he is the one who saves everyone at the end of the film.
A separate line would like to mention K.K. Menon - singer of gazelles in Urdu, Naldi Hassan. This fruit, but romantic - lives romantically, sings romantically, in the ears of women too romantic, but, unlike Arjun, is a corrupt skin, although (again) romantic. His motives for betrayal are not clear to me, although all the heroes of this story act extremely illogically, clearly overplay (especially Mazumdar), but probably they thought so. . In the end, I came to the following conclusions: in no case do not consider it all as a drama or God forbid, as a patriotic movie. Just a black comedy with overaction and a chic main character. Critics at the time appreciated the picture poorly, but if you look from my position, it is very nothing.

I think the others will give less.
